Posts: 849 , FL United States | Stopped in at Polaris of Gainesville to look at (and maybe buy) the new 2011 Lehman CrossBow. They have a "Signature Series" CrossBow that I really, really like
BUT
we couldn't get close to a monthly payment I could afford. If I sold ALL my stock and put down a bunch of $, the payment MIGHT get down to where I could do it.
Picture Quality not great, were taken on my phone. Hey, it's what I had handy.
They're asking $37,988 before add-ons and were going to give me $11k for my Vis. Chuck was the sales guy and he tried to "crunch the numbers" a bunch of different ways but no way I can do it

| Does the crossbow have a raked front end for easier searing? Does it have the linked brakes?
Extremely pretty bike |

The paint is what "hooked" me. I had already seen the CrossBows at the Lehman factory in Spearfish,SD when Laura and I were at the Sturgis rally in '09. |

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | I know the CrossBow can only be had as a complete trike from Lehman. I wish they would consider doing conversions on customers existing bikes, even if you had to take your bike to Lehman to have it done. It has become increasingly apparent to me that the day is coming when I'll have to move to a trike to stay in the wind. I would like a CrossBow when that day arrives, but I can't afford one. I could swing a conversion on my bike.

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | Luke, Nice trike, but that is ridiculous! 40K for a bike? No way. When I need a 3-wheeler, I will be getting a Can-Am Spyder RTS for almost half of that. Granted, it's not a Vision, but for 40K I wouldn't buy a Vision. For 28K you can get an RTS WITH the matching trailer.
Regardless, I am sorry it isn't going to work out for you.

| Last May, my wife and I drove to Spearfish, SD to look at a new 2010 Crossbow at a Lehman dealer, as we had a couple of tip overs while coming to a stop, on our 2008 Vision. The tip over protection kept us and the bike from harm, but we thought a trike would be worth a look.
Anyway I loved my Vision, had 17,000 touble free miles on it, but when we saw the Crossbow it looked like you wouldn't be giving anything up, but gaining stability.. and it was a looker.
Made the deal, ya its a mitt full of money. Drove home (Devils Lake, ND) 700 miles with a 35-40 mph crosswind (40-60 degrees) its North Dakota. It didn't steer like a motorcycle, you had to steer it into a crosswind, you had to steer it into a crowned road, you had to steer it (hold on tight) going around a curve. If the speed limit say's 40 mph, you probably want to do 40.
But, we didn't ever feel like we were going to tip over. We put over 5000 miles on it last summer, loved most of the things that were like the Vision. Dislikes are, you will get around 28-30 mpg, you won't be cruising much in 6th gear, because it takes power for that 3rd wheel, and it really steers hard.
In fact, I was going to sell it and then look at a Can Am RT. Power Steering !
Then a month ago I was looking at KewlMetals web site and they had introduced a front end kit for the Crossbow to improve the handling and steering effort. I took about 5 minutes to think that over and pushed the buy button. Have now installed kit with the rake and have taken a short test drive, it's still winter here, and can not believe the difference. I think I'm keeping it!
That new Crossbow that's sitting in the showroom doesn't have the rake kit, that's another 1G. For a factory trike it should have it installed. Just thought you'd want to know. I didn't!
