Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I pondered the day’s mission and mentally went over my pre-flight checks. I walked across the tarmac to the craft, helmet in hand admiring the sleekness and grace of this fine machine. With the checks of the lights, tires, framing complete I gave a once over look of the skin. Glancing across the runway I looked for any debris that may become fodder or anything that would ground me. All looked well, so I suited up and hooked up the communications. The engine thundered alive as the gauges began showing feedback, I settled into the cockpit. Radioing the tower I got the up-to-date weather conditions and the clearance for take-off. With a sweeping motion of the arm and a salute from the deck crew, man and machine was rolling down the runway ready for whatever comes our way. Danger Zone was blasting through the speakers and in the rear view my wife was in her robe and fuzzy slippers with a hand-held CB radio standing in the driveway. I wondered to myself if I’ve taken this Vision Pilot thing a little too far? |

I'm sure if I could stand outside myself and observe, I would laugh my ass off at all the time, money and energy I throw as this motorcycle thing. But, in my own mind, it's SERIOUS business and my self image is worthy of posters and film, but, in my heart I know, I'm making it all up. |

I especially like the weatherband for the voice effect, gives you the feeling of checking in with the flight tower.
Also, get the helmet I saw Songfan with, maybe he will post pics of it or a link to where you can see the specs, it looks like a pilot 3/4 helmet with a hidden drop down sun visor, push a button and two bug eye visors dropp down. Cooooll! Then paint it military aircraft gray and stencil "Pilot" on one side and "Bentley" on the other.
Soft landings and Extremely violent takeoffs in your future. But then again, with the GCFM (Geezer Club for Men), maybe just lightly jolting takeoffs. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Scorpion EXO-100. Can be found online for $100. Top rated 1/2 helmet by several online dealers. YouTube has video reviews if you search for them. Most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. The hidden flip down visor is very cool but you also have the advantage of a fixed visor for shade. I have a Bluetooth Nolan but I wear the Scorpion way more often.

Posts: 150 Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby! | I have had my Scorpion EXO-100 for nearly a year now, and it's great. I saw it in the Kawi store when I had my Nomad, and snagged it that day. They sell a lot of them at that store.
That Retractable eye shield/sun shade is fantastic! I don't have prescription shades, so this is really the answer for me! Mine is gloss black, and a Victory sticker on the back already. Now I just have to add my Vision Pilot sticker.
Not having ventilation holes doesn't seem to affect it so much either. I take the neck liner out in warmer weather and airflow goes up the sides of my head and seems to keep me air cooled enough. |

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | Gotta go find me a flight tower to erect in my front yard. People have windmills, I want a flight tower, but then just to be different, give me a Death star, of course half done, or a Star Trek Enterprise and have them orbit around my flight tower, got to be forward thinking here. |

Posts: 320 Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay! | But it does have ventilation holes, Ed! If you take the visor off (slide the tabs on either side forward, away from the word "Lock", and then gently pull forward and up on the visor), you can see them clearly. I've had my EXO-100 for almost 2 months now. Easily the most comfortable helmet I have ever place on my head (and it's available in pink!!! ). We sell a bunch of them at our store. There are replacement shields available for them, but they are currently on back order from Scorpion. They all come with a light smoke shield, there are dark smoke, clear blue and yellow (but no pink ). The shields pop out and back in easily for replacement.

Posts: 150 Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby! | You mean, since I didn't take it apart like I do everything else, I missed the Ventilation holes. WHOO-WEEE girl, now I can be doubly cool. I guess if I spent more time taking things apart, or maybe reading the directions... INSTEAD OF RIDING ALL THE DANG TIME!
Thanx Trixie!
I like it even more better some now!

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Trixie, Thanks for your review of the helmet, as well as the others who have shared. I'll be looking to get a set since now I'm Wingless. I sold the 1993 GL1500 just now on eBay. Though I may be wingless, I still have my Vision. ...Headin' into twilight.... Spreadin' out her wings tonight....She got you jumpin' off the track....And shovin' into overdrive...naaa, naaa, naaa, RIGHT INTO THE DANGER ZONE! I think I'll go for a ride tonight, hey honey, where's your CB radio?...... |

Being laid up and unable to ride SUCKS!! But at least I have this site to help "stay in touch." Not only are the folks here passionate Victory owners and Vision riders you are knowledgable and FUN! Thanks again to JAM and Miles for getting this site rolling and to everyone who contributes whether that be daily, weekly, monthly or rarely.....for some of us it's all we have for now. Keep it coming!
varyder........pilot on man! Let's just hope the response isn't "Permission for fly by denied - the pattern is full".....
Ride safe....

I finally got my EXo-100 - flat black and it is a very comfortable helmet. I've even got my comms fixed on it too. The speakers are farther away from my ears, but I just crank the volume up more. Thanks for the suggestion. |
