As an AMA member I get their magazine, American Motorcylist, every month. They have a user submitted picture section called RIDING and they select the best picture each month and give away a $500 gift certificate to Bike Bandit.

For the last couple months I was looking at the pictures thinking, "man Ive got way better pictures then that"....so I tossed one in an email last month and fired it off.

I won....

Here is the original....

Now unfortunately Bike Bandit doesnt have any Victory stuff.....and Im good on tires for the Vision right now.....so I used the money to pimp out my newest ride, a Kawasaki KLR650 that I picked up for some adventure riding.

.....none-the-less....a Victory was victorious, atleast this month.

Hey That scenery looks very familiar, from other than just the John Wayne westerns... I drove through last year on a bike trip from Canada... That looks like somewhere around the Monument Valley - Moab area?

Just about 15 miles north west of the four corners area. I turned on a little road in Arizona and just headed north....the goal was to ride about 2 or 3 miles into Utah so I could add another state to my map. My girlfriend wanted to stop and play in the sand. We were down in the ditch playing in the sand and when I turned around I snapped this picture.

Turned out great.....this one was a close second...

Saw the picture in the magazine this past weekend and thought a Vision in it's natural enviroment. Glad you got picked.

There are so many "cool pics" of bikes, but what makes this really awesome, is that you are "somewhere cool". I love pics that show great bikes in beautiful places. Well done!!

I saw your pic in the magazine......great picture; congrats.
BTW, anybody who isn't an AMA member seriously should consider joining; they do a LOT of work advocating on- and off-road riding rights and trying to stop anti-riding laws from being passed. It's well worth the $40 or so annual membership IMO. Lots of other benefits as well.

Sure.....funny you should ask.

Ive never saw the merit in spending tons of money on a camera....

Before I started this trip I bought a cheapo camera because my "nicer" camera was big enough I didnt want to bring it along.

Its a $60 2 year old refurbed Nikon Coolpix L20......bought it as some outlet store on the net. 10mp....basic point and shoot.....give me great pictures.

Congrats on your gift certificate. The original blows away the magazine print.
