Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | Backfires. I have some from time to time. I am running a 2008 Vision with S1L2 exhaust and map.
My only question is "Does the occasional backfire cause any real damage to the engine?"
Some days I do not have any pops at all but if the engine temp and outdoor temp is just right I get a few.
I am thinking "So what?" I ride a motorcycle not a Rolls Royce.
One of my coworkers rides a 1971 BSA Rat Chopper. I have never heard him say "Man, I need to eliminate any backfires from BSA Lightning engine." Nope....he just kicks it off and we ride away. |

| backfires and popping are 2 very different things.. I am hoping you are not having back firing, that would be a issue. popping? no problem |
