When?
Piggyback it to an existing event? |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | I think the first go around should be a piggy-back to a more prominent event. We could ride our Visions on some of the local outrageous twisties and swap tales of exploits over all you-can-eat lobster provided by Vision-Riders with all you can drink Diet Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper. Of course all the other answer would be on the primary event.
I think it is a great idea and hope to meet all you all at the first annual Vision-Rider's Lobster and Ride Fest!

Posts: 185 Rhode Island | I don't know if you can have just 1; any distance over 600mi and you are pretty much looking at more than a long weekend; 1 day out, 1 day back and 1 day to ride in the area. For us in the north east I guess that is around VA, western PA, SE Canada. If doing more than a long weekend it is pretty much a 2012 trip for me and I'm sure many others are the same. But it would be great to have 30 or so vision riders all meet in one location WV would be my pick for a long weekend.

Jim
WV has the added draw of having a MC friendly Governor. They even have MC road maps with a picture of Mr. and Mrs Gov with their HD and wearing their HD jackets. Maybe we can get them on a Vision and take some pics for their next set of maps. You know that once Mrs. G sees how nice it is she'll have him out making the trade.
WV does offer some great rides and easy access to a lot of other prime areas that attendees could take advantage of while in the neighborhood. |

If its just to be a quick weekend, one of the sides of the country maybe left out. I'm up for something in 2012, and dont mind riding across the country but would prefer maybe a Thursday thru Sunday event.

Is the center of the lower states. That might a place we should look at as it might be equal for most of the long haul riders.

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | To start, I would suggest piggybacking it to an existing event. Later, it could be moved to a different region each year like the 'Wing Ding does. The AVR in Spirit Lake would be a good place to start. The VITO (Victory In The Ozarks) gathering (in Eureka Springs, AR) is in its 7th year now, and we have two motels booked up already for this year. It's pretty casual with lots of great riding in the area and fun around the campfire at night. There is also a huge national event down the road in Fayetteville, AR called Bikes, Blues, and Barbeque http://www.bikesbluesandbbq.org/ if folks want to have a good reason to go to a meet. All these are central to the USA.
I love the Smoky Mountains/ Appalachians and the Rocky Mountains and would gladly ride to either of those areas. I'm allergic to big cities and you won't see me there.

| We could all meet in Sioux Falls,Sd. and ride over to Sprite lake. Take hwy 9 right into the rally. Its 87 miles and I know Sioux Falls have plenty of bars and 39 motels hotels.
Its on the way back from sturgis if your going to the rally any how. What I site that would be all Vision's in one paring lot to say nothing about all going down the hwy at one time. If we got a peraid permit maybe we could run all the stop lights. Heck we can stop traffic |

Posts: 169 Iowa | When the Vision first came out, I was at the plant in Spirit Lake to take the tour when about 30-40 Visions came down the road. They had been at the plant in WI and road over in a group. What a sight. But an even bigger site was the Polaris 50th Anniversary when over 250 bikes road through Minneapolis to St. Paul and the state fair grounds. That was unbelievable to see and participate in.
I like what I'm seeing for suggestions. Good stuff. |

| miles/ miles/ miles/ miles are my only request. I made the mistake of gong to Daytona Bike week and Thunder beach Bike week last year....NEVER AGAIN. I guess i am not inot what others brands do....trailer your bike to town and park it in front of a bar hoping someone will notice it. I d rather be ont eh Cherahola or BRP ripping it up, or rolling to ALASKA (like i will be in June od 2010!) good news is i have found that Daytona bike week is good for something.....the BRP is empty...no slow harleys to slow you down, they were all trailered to Daytona.....SUCKERS |

I love the idea of a Harley Parking lot. I'm still cracking up!
Seriously I like the, link it to another event idea. Northeast in the fall is nice, or Blueridge in May/June. As you can tell I'm on the east coast |

Fly-in "East" could be Sept/Oct Fall colors anywhere from the Carolinas to New England. It would be nice to have dates by the end of the previous year since I have to pick all my vacation time in November for the next year. |

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | Lots of good ideas for locations for a VV meet. Most of them sound great to me.
Here is a suggestion for a somewhat centrally located place that is in a lightly populated part of the country, offers good riding, has plenty of places to stay and to eat, and caters to motorcyclists. Room rates and meal costs are reasonable and lower than some other parts of the country. The actual town itself looks like a little slice of Bavaria. In the Spring, the Dogwoods and Redbuds are in bloom in the hills and in the Fall you get lots of color, better than the Rockies, but not as good as the Smokies/Appalachians. The Ozark Mountains are just hills when compared to the Rockies or Appalachians, but the riding is still good and the traffic, for the most part, is light. I'm referring to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The population of the town is about 2350 people and the whole town is on the National Register of Historic Places.
