| When I rode the two Visions we noticed they both made loud clunks when shifting. It seemed louder thanother bikes I've ridden. I'm sure it's a non-issue, but for $22,000 I'm curious. Can someone on here explain away the noise? |

Posts: 600 Linwood, MI | When I took my ride I rode on three different Visions (2 Tour, 1 Street). I noticed the "clunk" on the first one I rode (a silver one, I'm pretty sure...), but not on either of the other two. There were a couple of other minor issues that other people noticed and mentioned to the Victory engineer that was present (Dave-something-or-other) and he said that the bikes we were riding were pre-production and that those problems had already been addressed and fixed on the production models. |

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | My 04 KP Deluxe also "clunks", but have not had any issues, the bike has 30,000 miles on it. I've noticed riding with my HD buddies, theirs is just about if not just as loud when going into first gear. One way I've found that reduced the "clunk" is to pull in the clutch about 10 seconds before shifting into first. |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | The trans is just like the Harleys. No synchos just dogs to lock two gears together. You can shift this kind of trans without a clutch if you had to without causing any major damage. Very durable trans. The clunk is the two dogs meshing together to lock the two gears. Meshing to hard steel gears together is going to make a noise. Long stroke v twins produce more torque lower in the rpm range. Requiring a stronger trans. 4+ cylinder, short stroke metric motors delver torque also but not as harsh as a long stroke motor. |
