Posts: 825 , WI | I have been getting my Vision ready to try another IBA ride. This IBA ride will have two parts. Part one is the BBG1500. 1500 miles in less than 24 hours. I did a BBG1500 in 2007 on my Vegas so this should be a little easier. The map is done, all the gas stops are planned. The bike is almost ready. I have an extra 2 gallons of gas. 8 gallons should be enough! I added my old 2720 GPS. I should replace it but like an old friend it has never let me down. The Spot Tracker is mounted on the right mirror mount. I'm hoping to try the ride in early June but I enjoy the planning almost as much as the ride. Wish me luck!!!

The IBA requires a receipt every 300 miles on all the rides.
My gas stops are going to be no longer than 180 miles apart.
The spare gas is "just in case". On the 49 state ride I needed my spare gas 4 times!
A lot of gas stations are not open 24 hours or they have gone out of business.
All of my planned stops are truck stops so I should be fine but.....just in case. |

Thank you!
I do enjoy these rides. This trip will start with the IBA rides and then a slow ride back through Colorado. |

Ride safe, have fun, take pictures! |

I haven't had a chance to test them yet. We got a 1/2 inch of snow so they put down a 1/2 inch of salt!

| To bad you don't have a aluminum tank with a built in pump then your butt would be living up to the name of the ride.
Have you heard of this ride http://hokaheychallenge.com/ Sorry its just for oil leakers. It was open to all bike last year and there was a lot of suspicious goings on and the winner was questionable. Then harley bough out the ride and now its just for them. How special.

yeah i remember back in 2004 they required you to stop for gas to get Receipts as "Proof" also btw even after do what ever mileage you complete dont expect anything from the IBA anytime soon. it took my crew about 9-11 months to get anything to confirm they werein the IBA |

How this works. This is the paperwork I had to do for the 49 state ride.
The first gas receipt is the start time. This will also be the end time 10 days later.
The ride needs to be completed in LESS than 10 days.
You need at least one receipt for each of the 49 states but the IBA wants every receipt. Gas, food, motel and tolls.
Each receipt needs to show the location. This shows your route and helps to prove your ride. I had 106 receipts.
I wrote the mileage on each receipt and put it in a waterproof box inside the tank bag.
At the end of the day the receipts are put in a Zip-loc bag. One for each day.
Writing the mileage helps later when you need to fill out the trip log. Also helps when you need to put the receipts in order.
The IBA wants a copy of the receipts and a spread sheet with all of the receipts listed in order for each day.
I entered all 106 receipts for this trip not including the tolls. I used an EZPass for the tolls.
I also included the witness forms, a map showing the route and anything else that will help prove the ride.
I also included Spot Tracker maps and links, an EZPass statement and 2 disc's with over 400 pictures from the ride!
You turn in the paperwork and hopefully your ride is approved.
My 49 state ride was approved in about 4 months. |

Posts: 161 Oregon. | I did a 1000 mile saddle sore ride with my wife yesterday, started the ride at 0400 hrs PT, finished the ride at the house at 2310 hrs PT. Still need to make copies of the receipts and mail them off. The question I have is about the map. Has anyone used an Atlas, made a copy of it, and mailed it in? We rode 500 miles out and 500 miles back so the map wont be very big. I just wonder if that will suffice. Anyway, great trip, best part of the whole thing was it was on a Vision. People are very interested in the bike. I have only met one person that didn't like the looks of it. Can't please everyone I guess. I can not imagine doing a BBG. That is alot of time in the saddle... The regular BB is much easier and I think a better way to do it. |

You can use any map that shows the route.
I entered all of my gas stops into Yahoo Maps and printed it. Works nice because it shows the location of the gas stops. I have also sent in a Spot Tracker map.
And ..............congratulations!!!!! |

I am really interested in getting one of your gas cans but first I need to know if they will fit nicely into a Vision saddlebag.
I will be leaving for Key West within the next two weeks and it would be nice to have more than the one liter bottle of gas I normally carry.

It does fit in the saddlebag. I will take a picture of it in the saddlebag tomorrow.
