Posts: 277 Apopka, FL | How many lowers have blown off? How many get loose? They are just being held on by 3M tape. We know the tape is good, but the elements can get to it with rain, soap (for those that actually wash their bikes), humidity, dirt, or the tape can just dry out from all of the above.
Well, what is CLEAR and seals out moisture? Silicon. So using common silicon and a small dental cement syringe and a little patience, I "sealed" the adhesive. When you just apply a little silicon using the little tipped syringe, you get this. Just backfill the clear tip, put in the green plunger plug and insert in the syringe. Hopefully the moisture will be sealed out and preserve the tapes inherent strength.

Visionary
Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | doc, you may be on to something with longevity of stick to itness. Personally, too many factors are involved to include time to make it any thing less than a bolt on. Sure, some may only keep their Vision for just a couple years and then sell the bike, but give it around five years of average riding I would guess one or both will fly out down the highway, or fall off when adjusting them. Just my opinion, so you I feel your idea makes a lot of sense and will keep them longer without bolting.
