I am powder coating the exhaust shields on a 2010 VV8. I removed the shields on both sides, pretty EZ as I just removed the clamps. However, the shields closer to header or the motor are difficult to remove: there are no clamps.

Has anyone removed just the exhaust shields?

easy, just pop the little bands off the pipes. Then you can use a hose clamp to reattach them back unless you have a banding machine...

I think someone on V-Riders posted this link before. When I had one off at a muffler change, it already had a hose type clamp on it.

Thanks guys for the help. Just wanted to make sure I didn't mess anything up. But that makes sense, I don't have a banding machine but will insert new hose clamps. Once again thank you.
