I checked my radio diagnostic screen and saw that I had firmware 4.11. So yesterday I went to my dealer to schedule an appointment for the recall on the ignition switch, and then proceeded to inquire about the firmware upgrade for the ipod. The usual service manager that I have known for years was not in and I spoke with some young kid who was supposedly the supervisor. After explaining the problem to him and also that there should be an update, he looked at me like I was nuts. He said, all they had for my bike listed in the computer was the recall and that's it. I told him if he could inquire with Victory about the update and he stated that maybe he could send them a letter. A FREAKIN LETTER-WHAT IS THIS THE 1880'S. I asked if he could call and he said no. Before losing my cool, I said fine and left. When I take the bike in on Thursday for the recall, I will try to talk with the service manager to see if he can help me.

This is almost exactly what happened to me last week when I took mine if for the 5000 mile service. I told them about the recall on the switch, which they did not know anything about. I then asked about the update on the radio-I-Pod controls and he said there was no update.

I am hearing that the final ipod update is NOT ready. The update that some folks are getting still has bugs. Mainly with the interface to other electronics (cb, gps, cd changer) Vic engineers state that if a customer really wants the current update, the dealer can acquire it however a final release is scheduled in a few days (we hope)

I got my update the other day, it fixed the issue with the nano and mute. I haven't gotten the CB/ICOM installed yet, so we'll see if there is any issue with that. However, when I used to switch between the iPod and the radio, when I went back to the iPod it wouldn't start playing. Now it seems to work fine.

Hey guys, take it easy. Mix yourself a nice martini or pour a couple of fingers of bourbon, sit down and relax. (I'm sipping my second Martini now.) It's pretty obvious we have a member or two here who have access to "inside" information. A couple of things have been made known here before the "official" release, but they have, or will, come in good time. There are some defects on my bike which I would really appreciate Victory stepping up and doing the right thing about, but, that being said, I can't get worked up about stuff they are acknowledging and providing, or at least working on providing, a fix for. (Talk about run-on sentences!). If there are defects they don't acknowledge or provide solutions for, there will be plenty of time to beef. I think it would behoove them however to be a little more forthcoming with the information. It's seems strange when I go to my dealer and I'm telling him things he doesn't know yet.

My bike is at the dealer for the final chrome pieces and the firmware update and ignition recall. He called me yesterday and said the ignition part was on the way and the firmware was finalized only yesterday and they expect it to be ready for the dealers in the next few days. According to him, the update is done via the internet with a hookup in one of the saddlebags. He is a pretty straight guy, hope this is correct.

There is a new update pending for the audio. Problems have been found in the original, and the 4.13 update that create interface issues. The new update is in trials, and should be out VERY soon.

My 5,000 mile is coming up very soon, so I will call my dealer now, and see if they know about the iPod firmware. It would be nice to have some things like that resolved, for sure! -----Metalguy
