This is my second first year bike from victory. The only time I had to take to the dealer was for remap and gas tank recall. Every one should make there first year productsthis well.

A Rune and a Vision.....wow.  You're a poster child for not running with the herd!

2005 Honda Rune

2008 Vision

I thought nobody bought the Rune. I saw a brand new one still sitting on the showroom floor. Do tell how do they compare to other rides.

I love the look of the Rune. My dealer has a new one on the showroom floor as well.

I agree with pollolittle, I think this bike - this year - is going to be iconic.

Now, if I could just get mine delivered.

I find my Vision to be like the other Victory's I have bought..........what should I be looking for it to do as a "first year" bike?

Clean sheet frame/suspension, wind tunnel design, newest materials for the body panels, closed-loop EFI, heated grips, heated seats, cruise control, power windshield, CB/intercom, GPS, Satellite radio, AM/FM/NOAA, CD, iPod/MP3.

This was not exactly like changing from a Vegas to a Kingpin to a Hammer. Lots of stuff to look for.

I guess I'm certifyably crazy then. There I was happily putting along on my 05 Nomad with 35,00 on the clock and loving every minute. Having read everything in print about the Vision I had decided that it would be too heavy (nearly 75 lbs more than my Nomad). So one day in October I see that the local dealer has one sitting outside for the world to see. Just a quick look see was all I wanted, I was NOT in the market for a new scooter, would Never by a "first year machine" of any make, and didn't need another payment. So I made a stop in to see it "in the flesh", one of the salesman took it out in the parking lot and was turning TIGHT circles and dragging the floorboard! Soooo I made an appiontment for a test ride the next day after work. That Saturday after I got off, went straight to the shop for the test ride. Was VERY impressed (as were all of us I'm sure after that first ride). Needless to say the following Monday after work there I was, at Prescott Valley M/C with a deposit check in hand. After 40 days or so I got the call that it was in and ready to take home. I have not looked back not one time and have truely enjoyed the last 3000 miles. It is almost a shame that I recently changed jobs and now have only a 14 mile round trip from home to work. The old job was a 65 mile daily commute!!!!!!

Ride safe, Ride Often!!

I've done it... twice.

1999 V92C & 2008 Vision

Me too.....plus four other Vics in between. ('03 cruiser, '03 TC, '05 TC and '06 CN Jackpot).

Now......to carry this "crazy" thing a step further. I've never purchased an extended warranty on any of the bikes. I feel especially since the Freedom motor that these bikes are pretty bullet-proof. JMO. It must be said also that while I rack miles up with the best of them (when I'm healthy) I am not an "aggessive" rider or one who is apt to go much beyond the "stage 1" type engine mods. But....if you do more than that you basically void any warranty anyway.

So new model or not....I feel Victory has put ALOT of time and R&D into the Vision. Owning a first year model is not a huge leap of faith. Now....if Victory had just started building bikes this year and introduced a bike with as much technology on it as the Vision.....might have had to see how they performed for a year or two. Do I think there are going to be some "glitches" along the way....well we already know the answer to that one. It's how they will be handled by Victory and the dealers that counts. So far I have no complaints.

If the "perfect" touring bike is out there somewhere.....feel free to post the info on it. They are machines, assembled by HUMANS (ie...not perfect). There will be issues. But I'll continue to take my chances with Victory. At least in my case, their track record is as good as anyone else in the business.

Ride safe.....
