It was a good day! |

| hmmmm not sure I will be proud to say that until Victory "fixes" the Indians. at 30k and less HP and TQ than a HD.....well....I just hope Victory can fix them before I start quoting the Indian name. No doubt back in the early days Indians were sweet, now, I dont believe so.

the longer I've been back in the motorcycle community I've come to some simple conclusions.
1. There will be many folks that do not see things the way I do.
2. There will be many of those many that will tell me they don't see things the way I do.
3. There are very few folks that see things the way I do, but will tell me where they differ.
4. I will never agree 100% on how others see things.
All your reasons for not associating Indian with Victory should have no bearing. We do not live back in the day, but the Indian has a tremendous appeal to those who love it and know it. No more than someone can convince you and I that the Vision is the ugliest motorcycle that ever hit the market, you cannot sway me I how I feel about Indians or Victory. I'm glad to see this marriage and will use the Indian name at every opportunity, hand in hand with Victory. |

| Capn nemo...I hear ya, and I agree with you that the Indian name is a prestigious one, I think thats why I refuse to give any clout to, like XRsteve said so well, the joke that Indian was made by the investors that decided to try to bring back a legend and made it a sad joke. Id prefer it to stay dead until done right and that is what I am hoping (and I am confident they will) Polaris does with Indian.
I am so very glad that my favorite all time bike, the Vincent line, has not had its legacy clouded by investors that would destroy the legacy of the great bikes.

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | jeffmack: you want to see some cool modern Vincents, go to Irving Vincent web site. They are not massed produced vehicles but rather very high end road bikes or all out race bikes. There is a 1300cc version and a 1600cc monster that has 160 HP. Beautiful pieces of work, carbs on left exhaust on right and very heavily finned, absolutely beautiful. Won the AHRMA Battle of the Twins at Daytona a couple of years ago.............. |
