Posts: 156 Bluff Park, Alabama - God's Country! 2011 PW VV | Please keep one of my riding buddies in your thoughts. He lost his Mom in the devastation in Pleasant Grove, AL. We have been riding about 4 years now and have become fast friends. We both have gotten new bikes in the last year. We both went from Yamaha V-star 1100's - me to a VV and him to an FJR 1300. The damage is absolutely horrible. Please say a prayer for those impacted. I feel blessed that all of my family are safe and that our only problem was no power for 5 days. For many it is going to be much longer to get power, much less a roof over their heads. This is the worst storm damage I have ever seen - words cannot express.

I remember the feeling and visuals as a child viewing the wreckage of Hurricane Celia. Looking at it made you feel very small and helpless.

All that was left of the trailer that we had in Ingleside, TX was the floor, frame and wheels. It looked like a huge skateboard. The trailer had three others stacked on top of it.
God Bless.

Posts: 101 Springfield, TN | Chuck, My wife and I have been keeping AL, GA, and TN folks in our prayers since the storms went through last week. It's been amazing to see how crazy tornadoes work. Mass destruction next to buildings that look untouched. I was in Gulfport 2 years after Katrina and was in awe of the devastation along the Gulf and thankful we live inland... now to see this similar devastation inland stretching from MS to TN is heart wrenching. |

Posts: 457 Green Bay, WI United States | Involved in the tornado in Big Flats, WI. Got my Vision (Twister) into my lady friends garage 3 min before it hit (riding bike up from the Milwaukee area). We went in the basement right away and after the tornado had golf ball+ size hail, did just under $4,000 worth of damage to my 5 week old 2011 Dodge Ram. I was feeling real sorry for myself when I left to head back to Neillsville. I went south just to see what had really happened and less then a mile down the road I found two houses that were all but standing. They have now both been condemmed. In the grand scheme of things, I lost nothing and was not on the Vision when this tornado hit. Lady friend figures I would have been killed, I figure I would have looked like George Jetson flying around on the Vision. All bullshit aside you have no idea from pictures or video footage the damage these people suffer. Keep all of them in you thoughts and prayers.....

I lived in both ends of Lousiana so I understand when the clouds go dark purple and the levees feel like mounds of pudding- All my positive energy is going to each and every one of you.
Stay safe and stay with us!! |

Posts: 156 Bluff Park, Alabama - God's Country! 2011 PW VV | Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. We went with my buddy today to see his mom's house(gone) one more time. They had finished demo and all that is left on her property is dirt. Most of her house was blown onto other lots. Still have not found the washer/dryer, fridge, deep freeze and stove. That was the first time I have actually seen the devastation up close. As was said earlier, you cannot wrap your head around it without actually being there and then it is still hard. We were there on our bikes and a guy stopped to see if we needed any water. The volunteers are still out working hard. It is just heartbreaking. |
