| So i'm out guys. Just got rid of my 08 Vision for a 2011 Road Glide. My wife took a high managerial job at one of the biggest HD dealers in the state of Michigan, what ya gonna do? When you get bikes and parts at dealer cost i think it is a no brainer. I just wanted to thank all of you guy's for your excellent input over the last 3 years. But don't fret momma still has her Kingpin so we still represent. Best wishes to all and everybody ride safe. |

Ride safe and have fun! Good jobs should never be passed up. Someday many years from now, she will retire or find a better job and I hope the newest Vision will find you again.
I did a test on the Road Glide Ultra CVO and found it to be the most Vision like of any HD on the road. I did miss the electric windshield but very little else.
Take care. |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | So, was it a requirement for her to have a husband ride a Harley? I don't think I see the connection, she still rides a Kingpin, but you go Harley. You must be another one of them...
As I would say to all riders...ride hard, ride long, ride safe!
RT, you point out something that I would hope that other manufacturer's would figure out, build bikes for the rider. It sound's maybe HD is getting close, but still has that boxy, tight-in design that sucks with road buffet.

For me, there are too many examples where the features and protection afforded by the design of the Vision made my trip far more pleasurable and comfortable. My guess is that there will be some cold and wet Michigan days where you'll think back to how much nicer the Vision was in such conditions.
Many safe and happy rides!! |

The saddlebags, maybe just a little, but it seems like the Vision saddle bags hold more than would it would appear at first glance.
However, I can't believe the RG tourpak is any larger than the Vision tourpak???? Can someone confirm this? |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Turk: I've got one of each, 03 RoadGlide and 08 Vision. There is no way a Vision Trunk holds as much as a Harley King TourPack, I have both motorcycles sitting beside each other in the garage and I've packed them both for mutiple trips, it's really not that close, about 80% on the tour pack and 70% on the saddlebags........... |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | My RoadGlide has a 107" Axtell motor in it: 113 HP and 120 ft lbs Tq. But don't go ragging on me, my Vision has 115 HP and 117 ft lbs tq, the difference is it took about $5000 to get those numbers on the HD and only about $2100 for the Vision |

| Well guy's to tell u the truth when i left the dealer saturday i tought to myself on tue way home i made a bad decsion. But after 300 miles and 3 days later just runnin around southwest Michigan...........i am happy as hell with my new purchase. U know the only real issue i ever had with Victory was the fact that the dealer network SUCKS! Get this, when th HD dealer called some of the other Vic dealers in the area the only one of anysize Smokin Joes in Caladonia the owner told the sales guy at HD i was an idiot.......what the F___k? I bought my wifes Kingpin there last august. This is the same a__ hole that wanted to charge me 1500 more for a 2011 Cross Country that i could get cheaper just an hour drive away. It is like this i have owned 4 Vics, they really truely are the best bikes on the planet but out of the 4 different dealers i bought them from onlt 1 carries Vics now. So i guess when it comes down to it, giving up a little performance for a GREAT dealer network on top of getting HUGH discounts on every HD buy i make i would be retarded not to. O yeah the other dealer in the area bought my Vision for 2 grand more than the dick was offering. |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | if I was to base my decision on getting "the best bike on the planet" or something else on the dealer network I'd probably be one unhappy individual right now. My old gal is holding up great and haven't really needed a dealer except once since owning 'er. I do wish you the best. |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Eagle: No it's fine: no octane boost and its set at 10.25:1 compression, but of course the combustion chambers were reshaped up for this. Oil temp runs between 225 on 70F days and 245 on 90+F days, no oil cooler. The PC V and running correct AFR helped with that. All these bikes are set up too lean from the factories. It still has the stock throttle body which is small ( 44mm ) but I didn't want a pro mod motor. It still has cruise control and just runs and runs. My 115.5 HP Vision is a tad bit faster, overall pretty evenly matched.........Overall mileage is 53,000 and 3000 since I had the motor done, got it back in January.
