Salina, KS | Well I put Atom Bombs on about 2 months ago & used gutted stock exhaust tips. The problem I had was exhaust gasses/soot leaking between the muffler shield/tip seam. It was starting to blue the shields & sooting up the rear valance, so I decided to pull them back off & fix them so the gasses exit past the seam. I got some 2 1/2" exhaust pipe, had it flared on each end, cut the ends at a 45 deg angle to match the profile of the stock tips, marked & welded them to the ends of the muffler. I also decided to go ahead & replace the exhaust gaskets with Lloyd's gaskets....a good decision as they were definitely showing signs of failure, not to mention a major leak at the cross-over pipe. I'll try to post some pics.
