| All I have a 2007 Vegas Jackpot and i was headed riding. Started the bike, let it run for about a minute and had to grab something so turned the bike off. When I can back to start it, turned the key and no power now. No headlight, no instrument panel. The only thinks i get is if I slowly turn the key the brake light comes on. Weird?
I checked and moved the relays and fuses around. Know nothing else to check. Any suggestions? |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | you are scaring me qual1245 - it's the red switch on the right handle bar. Your question is disturbing only because that is the standard placement of the switch that all motorcycle riders should be familiar, especially if you have taken a recommended safety course. Not wanting to bust on you, but before you ride, I hope you are thoroughly familiar with all controls before moving out.

| I am good, Been riding for 25 plus years, and had maybe 4 rider courses. I read an article earlier today about kill switches and it made it seem as though they were talking about something else. So I thought I would ask.
Yes I have flicked it back and forth. What troubles me is that there is no power at all. no fuel pump (after turning on Kill Switch), no head lights, Nothing. Thinking there has to be something else to check before taking it to the dealer. |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | yes --- that is what is referred too as the kill switch. If it is in the "off" or kill position you should still have power to the instruments, you do on a vision, don't know on JP. Could be your battery cables also. It would not be uncommon symptoms in what you are describing for the battery cables to be cleaned and tightened. |

| I did the battery thing just now, I have it on the charger now. I just wonder are there other fuzes? Has to be a switch or fuze somewhere that is causing the problem. |

I'm sure the bikes are basically the same, but some may be unique in that someone else would say, "that happened to me and here is the fix...." |

| Sorry your having trouble with your bike. Might be why he is here, the guys on the other sites said check with us we know what a kill switch is lol. Do not just check your cables to the battery but also check them to the ground and solenoid. The solenoid is the thing the positive battery cable goes to before the starter, just in case you were about to ask and it also could be your key switch. You do have a fuse box and a curcit breaker you can use this link to find the info on where everything is located. http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | I have a similar problem on my Vision....did you try and jiggle the key in the ignition switch? Sometimes just turning the key around helped. Finally pulled the ignition switch and sprayed it with contact cleaner, and no problems since.....just a thought.

Yes there is one relay to rule them all (the 30/50 amp main power relay), and it is located under the drivers seat.
It is a 2 post screw down connector type, and you can short it out to see if your lights come on.
Common part that can be had at any autoparts store for a couple of bucks.
Burned up 2 (well really I crushed them - long story) on my Vegas, so I keep an extra one in my tool bag.
