I have my 08 Vision up on blocks. I plan on putting new tires on along with Lloyds IAC and exhaust gaskets. Any tips, tricks, hints?
I am going with OEM tires because I got 17,300 miles outta these.
Thanks, Ron

OK, So that didn't work, let me try this.

The swingarm is oily right near the shock mount. It is not from the oil filter, as you can see the filter is dry. I thought the shock was an air only shock, no oil. Maybe the area is oily from the previous oil filter? I spose it could be your average, run of the mill road grime. It just seems weird to me that the only oily spot on the swingarm is at the shock mount area. Any ideas?

Now that you have seen it once, wipe it off good ride awhile and recheck... if it is back, then worry with it and start looking for its source.

There is oil in the rear shock. Mine leaked last year and was replaced by the extended warranty. It is not a serviceable part. The bike did not feel as secure going into corners as it did before the leak and the suspension felt soft, regardless of the air pressure I put into it (yes, even with the oil gonem it still holds air pressure).

Thanks Howard, I think when I get the new tires on, I will ride it around for awhile and check it out again.

Bluto, my bike seems to feel like yours did. I will keep an eye on it. I need to get it back on the road ASAP, I am riding my Shovelhead until I get the Vision back, I love the Shovel, but there just isn't any comparison.

So the only way to tell is if you see oil?

I happened to notice my leak (very small puddle, about 2-3" in diameter and clear) but the biggest tell tale was the feeling going into low speed corners, kind of like you were constantly skating on hot tar snakes. It was very unsettling. My dealer inspected the shock (he had to pull it from the bike) and determined that the shock was bad. I was not there for that and have no idea how one would inspect a shock to see if there was something wrong.
