Camas Washington | +1, played Jr Hockey and have been a fan of the Canucks since the 70s. Use to take my kid to hockey camp at UBC for a few years. Only bummer is I like the Bruins, use to have a poster of Bobby Orr hanging in my bedroom as a kid. |

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | Congratulations to the Bruins, well played series. I'm watching the news on TV and struggling with why on earth 'fans' in Vancouver decided to burn the city down because their team lost. That makes a much sense as burning down your own house because you aren't happy with the color you chose for the trim.
I guess the $1 coin isn't the only thing that's 'looney'. |

San Antonio, TX | I applaud both teams for a great set of games....it could have went either way.
On the riot, lets face it some people do not know how to have a good time unless they make others suffer. From what I read it was a few small groups that did the worst of the damage.
In San Antonio we have large parties all year long but the biggest party is "Fiesta" that lasts 10 days and has over 100 events. It has been a tradition since 1891. Having events like this set a level of civility for the police and the people partying.
The San Antonio Spurs have won the NBA Championship four times since 1999. No one was killed....no riots were started....nothing burned. In all that time I think only a few arrests were made. After each win at least 40,000 to 80,000 people went downtown to Celebrate the win not destroy the city. |

Camas Washington | It was reported that there was going to be a riot wether they won or lost. It seems there are nuts everywhere that given the cause to riot will do so. I live in the other Vancouver (Washington) and I love to visit Van BC which I do a few times a year. Its a great city, a thousand or so nuts it not the true reflection of a great city with nice people. |

San Antonio, TX | I took a cruise out of Seattle two years ago that made a stop in Victoria, BC. In the summer when we fry in Texas....Victoria, BC is truly beautiful place.

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | The Island is nice as a whole, lots of trees and lakes. Victoria is the palce where lots of Canadians retire to, therein lies the issue, about the only thing worse than a Canadian driver is...a retired Canadian Driver! Rules of the road, lights, right of way 'you can get right out of my way EH' And Canadian ferry boats are huge and very nice, and darned expensive even if you are paying in Hudsons Bay Pesos. |

Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | I missed all the fun - I'm in Utah - on my way to the Victory Southwest Rally in Torrey. For those not hip to Vancouver - it is constantly rated in the top 10 cities in the world - including the U.S. - and a number of world publications place it as #1.
Unfortunately - Vancouver's ranking, and it's mild climate - make it affordable and desireable to all kinds of bums, nuts, whackos from all over the world.
And they love an excuse to riot. There were 1,700,000 Vancouverites who DIDN'T take part. Including me!

Edmonton Alberta, Canada | Very unfortunate that a few houdlums started this and the damage was done. I hang my head and ashamed to be a Canadian at this point, I only hope through social media the police charge and the judges deal with them appropriatly and Bruins, they played harder and won! |

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | It's just a sad commentary that in this day and age the press runs to get video of the kid in the back of the church picking his nose and not the choir.
Maybe this will be a wake up call to some who will become more responsible in the future. |

| Personally I would be okay with police using DEADLY force in riot conditions.
The press should have to report both sides of the story not just the must attention grabbing.
For those convicted of inciting a riot they should at least get life of community service of 30 hours per week. Maybe if they have to give back they will understand better.
Enough of the rant and yes I am NOT proud to be Canadian after that display.
I served this country for 28 years so these people could have the freedom to make me ashamed of my country! |
