Western WA | Still working the bugs out of my GoPro camera, and this is my first attempt.
The audio is turned down because I found it annoying.
But the pic quality is good. I think I need to find a different mount though.
Anyway, this was yesterday at the intersection of Chinook pass (Hwy 410) and Cayuse Pass (SR 123). Chinook is usually open by now, but with record snows in the Cascades who knows? A great day and a lot of fun.

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | The state DOT just got Hwy 20 opened, they had somewhere in the neighborhood of 65 feet (that's about 800 inches) of snow this past Winter on Washington Pass which is about 5100 ft.
Snoqualime Pass, I-90 had 497 inches of snow (41+ feet of snow and it's pretty low like 3200 feet see why we water the heck out of our lawns and hydro electric power is so cheap?

, AR United States | My Tachyon xc rattles more (mounted to handlebars). Maybe because if fell off my Sportster at 40 mph. Does the Gopro have image stabilization? If I buy another camera, I want it with stabilization. |

This YouTube link is the first test of my GoPro - using the helmet mount. I kinda like the fact that you can see a bit of the bike - makes you feel like your the pilot when you watch! Video is just a zip around my neighbourhood - not very exciting. | Breaker,
You're getting some weird colors and exposure because you are shooting through the wind screen.
The GoPro (and others) work much better if they are not filming through something.

Western WA | RT - It's been a weird weather year up here. Wet and cold. But you know what? I feel very fortunate that we can whine and not worry about tornadoes, floods, etc. I can put another layer on for a bit longer.
SYNSTR - Have you been over 20 yet? I plan on getting up there in the next week or two for a quick hop to Winthrop. If you have I would love to see some pics.
BillyJoe - Yes, the GoPro does have image stabilization. I'm very impressed with this little camera.
Scotsvision - Excellent pics! Crater lake is on my 'to do' list. I am jealous of 3 Visions in a pack though. Hmmm. . . what would you call a group of Visions? A swarm? A murder (like crows)? A verisimilitude? I kind of like that one.
DT - Great video! I can see now that I need the helmet mount. It makes for a much better video. Plus, I like how you can really get the feel for the lean angle when cornering.
Victory XC - Yes, the helmet mount is the way to go. And you and DT have shamed me with your production values.  Now, on a side-note - is that Kent or Renton by any chance? Benson Highway?

Western WA | I'm curious, are you guys using the fish-eye lens? It seems that mine is, and it looks quite different than DTs or Victory XC. Am I missing a setting? |

Vernon, WASH. | victoryxc's route, start in South Renton South on East Valley Hwy past the Boeing space center, left (East) on Grady Way (see the CUMMINS dealer on the right?) across the railroad tracks, under 167 to the light, right onto Central, Southbound. Left onto James East bound (the hill on James is very very steep, cars slide off of it every Winter. Right on Benson Hwy (see the Fred Meyers?) and South on Benson Hwy to one of the resaurants along there.
During the war, PACCAR (Kenworth) used part of the hill East of Renton , what's now the roadbed for Hwy 405 and the Benson as a test track for M3 STUART tanks built there. Boeing built B-29's a few blocks North of PACCAR.
If you watch the street, you'll see one of the issues Washington riders face. The white parallel stripes in the lanes are from carbide studded snow tires (legal 11/1 to 4/1 every year) that yuppie puppie mommy box drivers put on and then drive around in 40 degree rain grinding the pavement to the tune of about $10 Million in damage every year, and when it rains and they fill up, you get to ride on about 6 inches of paving between the ruts and the grease stripe in the road.

| SYNSTR has got it right. We went from the Starbucks at the Kent Space Center to the Red Robin burger place up on Benson Hwy, on a cold February.
Notice the snow & ice in places.
And the blue light on my dash is the high beam indicator - cruise is a green symbol.
Breaker, with the GoPro 1920x1080 True HD setting, the angle of view is 127 degrees.
All other resolutions are a 170 degree angle of view.

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | Part of my old stompn' grounds, grew up in South West Seattle and used to take Benson to S.I.R. in the old days when it was just two lanes and easier than driving to Auburn to get up he hill to the strip.
Sorry, your High beam light looks green on my monitor. I love the food @ Red Robin but never could understand why it takes so danged much time to cook a burger unless they go chase the cow down every time, 'more iced tea?' |

| Steve, yes the wind noise can be bad. That's why in my video I got rid of the sound completely & added music.
GoPro has the capability to add a wireless mic built into the HD cameras; however it is yet to be implemented via firmware update and accessory yet.
Once that happens, then the mic can be placed in the helmet for voice over or down by the engine/exhaust for some way cool sounds.
Oh and as long as it's on a Monday or Tuesday I'm up for a meet. Working all the other days.

| I've never used a GoPro camera, but it would be nice to have constant recordings in case of an accident. My question is there a way to get it to delete over old recordings and just constantly record so I don't have to take the card out and delete it all the time? Thanks |

Yea, that is true.....I had a lay down on the way home tonight. I wish I could look it over to see what I could correct.
Oil spilled on road into a corner....I never had a chance. I will post about it tomorrow. I am OK and the Vision is fine....I love my tipovers!

I noticed one thing that apparently you guys can get away with that would get us in Washington a chat with confetti from a 'Smokey Bear hat' for passing in lane-looking forward to more videos- |
