Posts: 28 Mesa, AZ United States | Just bought a '10 Vision 8 ball and rode it from Detroit to Salt Lake City. I have noticed a noise similar to a low growl when the bike is in neutral. However, it goes away when I pull in the clutch. The bike also makes noise louder than I would think normal for a newer bike in some of the gears. Is this common? And, any inputs would be appreciated. Thinking of taking it to the dealer to have it checked out on warranty (which I am assuming is still in effect.) I also have an 08 Vision and it makes noise also but not as much as the '10 |

| Fairly new to the Vision but my 11 Tour sounds like a thrashing machine at a stoplight with the trans in neutral..Put in gear or pull in clutch and all is well...Don't remember my 08 Kingpin making the same noise but the bike runs and shifts fine..Only 650 miles so far...Maybe it will get more quiet as time goes by, but maybe it is the design on newer tranny upgrades???

Posts: 103 Davenport, IA | Mine is an '09 with 9500 miles. The sound you're talking about sounds familiar. When coming to a stop, sometimes I will put in neutral and coast the rest of the way and hear that growl noise. This is only time I hear it. It has done this since new. Must be a characteristic of the machine, or it's the belt, brakes, etc. It has made me wonder, but has never gotten any worse. Any others out there experiencing this? |

Posts: 28 Mesa, AZ United States | I stopped in at the local Victory dealer yesterday to ask about this noise. I was told that this is very characteristic of the 09 and beyond. Don't know what Victory did to make these bikes sound like that but I think they screwed up. Bikes run like a champ and love them but wish the company could or would come up with a fix to quiet them down. |

Posts: 1 Chandler, AZ | I have a 2011 Vision 8-Ball and it does the same thing. Sounds almost like the plates on dry clutch motorcycle. Coming from a HD background and never owning a Victory before, I have to chalk it up to having to get used to a new set of noises. HD's certainly have their own unique sounds. Bike runs like a champ though and I haven't noticed any ill effects. As long as the clutch isn't slipping, grabbing or burning, all is well. |
