Posts: 82 Northwest of you | I have not ridden with my "trunk" on yet, but, have heard it "changes" everything handlingwise, especially in a cross wind. If that's not bad enough, I am thinking of putting a luggage rack on mine. If any of you have added it, would you: First, address the issue of "handling" and Second, post some pictures of what it looks like Finally, does it work and is it an easy "install" Thanks |

Posts: 266 Stockton, Ca. | I have the Premium Tour and installed the luggage rack as soon as I got the bike home. Have never ridden without the trunk though so I can't compare. I do also ride a BMW which gives more of a sport ride and in comparison the Vision is very stable on the highway even crossing delta winds where I live are not much different between bikes.
As for the installation, not too bad, there is actually some other threads posted on the installation but in short, the lid is premarked on the underside fot drilling out the mounting holes. The trick is catching the right angle of the hole so screws line up. To make it easier I drilled the holes slightly larger and it all lined up perfectly. The feet of the rack and their gromets are large enough to cover a much larger mounting hole so enlarging the original suggested hole size slightly is not noticable and it's weather tight. It looks good and I am thinking of adding some type of 3rd brake light between the rack and the trunk lid for added safety.

I've never had the trunk off my Tour and I think it handles great at any speed or situation. I'm sure there are some subtle difference without it, but it beats a Wing hands down all around. |

Posts: 849 , FL United States | My trunk rack LOOKS great but had I known it was rated for only 5 lbs I would have saved the $ & bought something else. With that rating I'm afraid to strap any kind of decent sized bag to it. Too heavy & it could rip the rack right off of the trunk lid IMHO |

Keep on truckin' and keep on tellin' us how things are a going. Oh, I think you can put at least 10lbs on the rack without any problems. |
