I wasn't aware of gas cap issues other than by hanging the fuel pump on it and bending it; is there something else you have seen?

Yea, 08' filler neck top and cap do not seal properly. Many (including me) have had fuel spilling all over the motor and their legs when fuel expands following a fill up. Appearantly the spill catch basin around the filler neck also does not seal properly and fuel runs out under the cap seal and down the outside of the filler neck onto the top of the right tank then, well, that pesky gravity is always on....ya know? Now I know the manual says fill to below the neck flange and that has always been my habit. Seems this time of year the underground fuel storage at stations in my area (Colorado high country) is still probably less than 45 deg F and when hot (empty) aluminum containers are filled with cold petrol the fuel expands considerably. Just a theory as it was never a problem the end of last season. Victory has a newly designed filler cap available at dealers that seals around the outside rim of the filler neck to rectify the issue. In the mean time, I only fill to 1" below the inner flange and that seems to help. Closest dealer is ABQ 230mi. away.

   Whew....Paulhu (aka Big Wind)

I found the recall page and nothing on the gas cap. If you go to your dealer and give him your vin number you can find out if any recalls were done to your bike.
