Posts: 15 Sunshine Coast, B.C. Canada | Called my closest dealer today, He has a 2 vision 8 balls - 2010($17k), 2011($19k) Both brand new.
Is the new tranny worth $2 grand?
Your input is always appreciated
Thanks

| I am sure the new tranny is better, but how much? Also look closer and you will see that the 2011's do not the side crash bars that are nice on the 2010. The 2011 uses foot pegs instead. Some 2011's I have seen do have the adjustable windshield which is nice...If you are going to keep the bike for a long time I quess the 2010 would be a better deal..If your looking to trade soon the 2011 might be worth more...IMHO I would probably go for the 2010 with the tip-overs as I have a short inseam....Good Luck, both great bikes...I rode them both, but bought a 2011 Silver/black Tour in the end......

Posts: 231 Desert Hot Springs (Palm Springs area), CA | I have a 2009 Ness Vision that I acquired several months back... I test drove the 2011s and I must say, I like being able to see what gear I'm in when I pull in the clutch. On the 2011s it goes blank. Also, I have no problems finding Neutral. Let your $$ dictate and I'd suggest that the 2010s should be cheaper than what they quoted you. |

I tried an 09 vision and loved it, the 8 ball appeals to me.
My only immediate additions would be an electric windshield and a passenger backrest with luggage rack.
my i-pod with ear buds has been my best friend so far, and a Gerbings jacket liner has kept my hands and arse warm (so far).
Dealer quoted me 400.00(installed) for the windshield kit.
Backrest and rack $ are yet to be determined.
Vision 8 Balls are $7500+/- cheaper in Canada than Vision tours.
That leaves $, to attend a cam party in the NW. |

Are you saying that the 2011's don't have the tip over protection??? |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | I believe they started in 2011 models going to the peg instead of the rear TOP and the floorboards. After all, it is an 8-ball, and if you ride one of them you're smart enough to never drop it. |

Passenger... best of luck on that as nobody has yet released an aftermarket version and Vic discontinued theirs. Lack of supply and large demand generally means a premium price for any passenger backrest being sold (IMO). |

| Say I don't think the 2011 has aluminum panels. I believe there plastic now. All so check ebay I think there was a windshield motor on there cheap and there not that hard to put in.
I have only tip over once and am very happy I have the real McCoy they saved the body work big time.
As for the tranie after brake in you can go to full synthetic oil and the bike will shift like hot knife threw butter.
The money you save will buy you exhaust and a fuel management system.
Either way keep the shinny side up and good luck. |

| Also, Victory does not make a back-rest and rack any longer for the Street Vision or 8-ball..You might have to investigate an after market supplier for these pieces..Dealer does not stock them and can no longer get them Victory...E-bay maybe, or someone on the board selling one.....The front panel under the windshield in indeed plastic...Changed to increase radio reception so I'm told.... Good Luck on your choice, as the 8-ball is a great bike!!!...And yes to answer the other comment, The Vision Tours have the tip-overs, the 8-Balls do not..They use foot pegs on the 2011 models, the 2010's have them......

Posts: 15 Sunshine Coast, B.C. Canada | E-Mailed Victory today, asking if there is a passenger backrest in the future for the V8. They responded within 2 hrs.
Saying "We appreciate your inquiry about the backrest. The information you are asking about is proprietary information and is not available to the public."..... (I hope that means they are working on it)
I also noticed that the "Lock and Ride Trunk # 2878113-266" says it will fit the 2011 Vision 8 Ball.
Don't know how it will look, but the quick detach feature will be handy.
If they come out with quick detach backrest....sharing the docking hardware.
Going from 1up to 2up to full touring, will take seconds

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | When I drove a new 2011 - I thought something was wrong with it. Took me a bunch of kilometers before I figured out that it didn't sound right - because I wasn't hearing the noise I am used to. Goddamned thing was TOO quiet ....
This convinced me to keep my '08 VV forever - it has 'character'.

I think that is ONLY for the Cross bikes... not the Vision. |
