Yesterday when I pulled the bike into my garage I shut her down in first gear. Thinking I may need to move the bike a few feet later I turned the key to accessory so I can see when it said N for neutral.

That's when the problem started.
The bike went into neutral and when I shut off the key my radio display stayed lit and won't shut off.
Started bike and the whole radio system was down, but the display stayed lit.

I shifted it into gear and noticed that the display just had lines in it but no gear number.
HOWEVER, shifting the bike into gear must of reset something because after I shut the bike down the display went dark like normal.
I restarted bike and everything worked like it should.

Seems a little weird.
I guess something got stuck (or the computer didn't like shifting bike when it was shut down).

Number two problem.
After I got off bike I decide to store away the helmets in the top trunk. Darn trunk cable (that keeps the truck from going all the way back when open) came apart at the seams and trunk went all the way over putting marks on the speaker area.
Seems the supplier did a really bad job of crimping the cable to the ends and the cable just pulled out.
Can't get the cable to feed back in so I can crimp it right.

Oh well it's a warranty item, so I'll just order a new one and make sure I crimp the ends before it's put back on (whole job may take 2 minutes).

Just thought I pass it along so some of you can maybe crimp the ends so it doesn't pull apart like mine did.

I haven't had that particular problem with the radio light, etc. But mine was shutting down radio first, then motor and then come back to life.
Just had the ignition switch recall done and will see if that fixes the problem.

Do either have an Xm radio? Sounds similar to my problem. Check out conflict with xm radio on the tech page. There is a fix

I had the very same problem with the radio - I had a blue light with the lines and would not go off. I took it in and the dealer had replaced several radios with the same problem. The fix is to replace the radio.

I have had the same problem with the cable---kinna cheesy. Seems they should have gone with a strut, like the 'bags. My first end came out, so I split the crimp open with a chisel, and then re-crimped it...worked fine, until the other end pulled right out! I will be having my 5,000 mile service in about a week, so I will contact my dealer Monday so they can order the parts they need for my bike, and install the recall piece, too. I didn't have any of the other problems you mentioned.-----Metalguy

It happened to me once. I very seldom lock the forks, so the only time I turn the key counter clockwise is to refuel. After fillup, started the bike and radio, gage cluster were dead. Let is sit at work and stared a few hours later with no problem. That was before switch recall. No problem after the recall.

Didn't have the above issues other than the radio displaye started showing verticle lines instead of the Victory Motorcylce logo about a month ago. Shop foreman saw it and ordered a replacement radio which was installed a week or so later with no other troubles. Seems like the radio may be a weak link here.

Thanks for the replies.

No I don't have XM (yet).

I would post the VIN but I aren't home.
I can post it Saturday.

Since the ign. sw. recall, no issues. No stalling, no infotainment issues. Just ipod issues. Got Xm for backup though.
