| Hello All I have a crack in my headlight lens... I am trying to figure out if this is a complete assembly with the entire case/bracket or if I can just replace the lens? Has anyone had to replace this? It does not appear to have been struck with anything... Does anyone know if this might be covered under warranty? thanks |

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | If yours is an older model Vision (08-early09) there was an issue with them cracking and some have been able to get them replaced under warranty. A lot of it had to do with the wording used when submitted. Check out http://www.Vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=7932&pos... . Otherwise, it is a one piece assembly, and expensive. Many have shilled out the $70 to CeeBailey for a headlight shield because of this. I have an invisigaurd shield on mine. Not as good as the CeeBailey, but completely invisible and part of a full body and paint protection system.

I think the assembly runs over $500 if I'm not mistaken. |

| Of Course mine is a 2009... I am still going to try to get it under warranty... If not, its a ferry ride to the closest dealer so I will be ordering and DIY the install.... |

Posts: 255 New Brunswick , Canada | Got a 2010 Vision , 9k miles on it ...they change my headlight on warranty last mid-summer and it's crack again , same place upper left corner.
They are going to change it again next week on warranty..they both crack from the inside...Dealer #1 service right now...but getting a little worried
Hope i'm not going to have to replace it every year. ;o(
Dealer takes a picture , send it to Victory and they approve the warranty..so fare so good. ;o) |

| Gerry, All the 2008 & 2009's come pre-cracked, a little hairline crack in the upper right as you look at the headlite from the front, BUT I have to say I've never seen one cracked where yours has cracked. Did you take a stone or something? It shouldn't crack like that regardless so my guess is Victory will change it out for you under warranty, BUT I'd recommend you pick up a Cee Bailey headlite shield while you are waiting on the new assy. For the record the assy's are $500 each so it isn't something you want to be replacing out of your own wallet.
The problem with the 08-09 headlites was heat and mold tolerances were too tight. Victory corrected this mid 2009 but not before all the bikes had shipped out to dealers. In other words the 2010's have the improved tolerance headlites, NOT "changed" just lower heat for bonding. I really don't want to start the ole "my headlite ain't cracked" debate again, so I'll just say Victory knows they are/were so there isn't any bulking over replacement normally.
Like I said, Victory will likely replace this for you but get the headlite shield to eliminate the need in the future. Small investment for peace of mind. |

| Teach.... Thanks so much for the info. It does not appear that it was hit.... Of course I am deploying overseas very shortly and this was the last thing that I wanted to deal with while trying to get ready... of course nothing with my dealer is ever done quickly... Since I have to take a ferry ride to get to the mainland anyway I might drive a little further to Skagit WA... I have heard good things about the dealer there.
I have heard about the Cee Bailey Protector, and yes I will certainly be looking to invest in one...
Thanks again for all of the great info |

Posts: 255 New Brunswick , Canada | Sorry Teach but they are still having problem with the headlight , even on the 2010's
I got a 2010 and they are changing the headlight for a second time in 14 months. Crack at the same place as Gerica'S.
But like you said , no problem to change them on warranty for now.
I wonder if they are cheaper by the dozen,, ;o) |

| I just checked my headlight assembly and guess what .... no cracks, no moisture, looks brand new! Mine was manufactured in April 2008 and I bought it new in Feb. 2009; now with almost 24,000 miles on it. Am I just lucky or what?

Posts: 127 OHIO | Dealer in Canton replaced mine under warranty. My HID light went out, so they replaced it and the headlight assembly, ( I think, it has been a while ago ). Only thing I have noticed since is: my light used to shine well down the road, now wants to shine 10' in front. I've tried raising it, but doesn't seem to want to. I need to look further into this. |

Posts: 130 Houston, Tx | I just checked the Cee Baileys headlight gaurd..... nice idea, just wish that the 5 little 'pads' were not so obvious. I'm sure there could be something else that could've been used to make them less noticable. All in all... I'm sure it works. Functional, but not cosmetically pleasing.

I got the whole paint protection package with headlight covers and really like it. The headlight covers that come with the paint kit are not as thick. You may need to call them to order the thicker headlight one, the link isn't there yet. |
