Hi all,

New to the website. I have begun my search for a new to me Victory Vision. I will admit that I have never road one but have heard that the local dealer is having the Victory Demo Days in August. Taking a 1/2 day off to go ride. As I begin my search is there anything maintaince wise or issue wise that I need to know about?

Currently riding a 06 Yamaha RSV. I do love it but the Vision has become a quest.

Thanks in advance.

You won't be disappointed! I never rode a Vision before and I flew down to NC to pick up the bike and drive it back to NY. Although I was scared shitless thinking of driving this big bike back to NY, I have never looked back. The Vision is the first motorcycle I ever owned. I rode a scooter for 4 month while I got my licnese and then got the Vision. I've had my 2009 Vision and only done normal maintenance. No problems at all! The center of gravity on this bike is amazing. I think that was the main reason I was able to handle the bike from my scooter driving back from NC to NY. It's an 860 pound bike with the agility of something smaller!

My only complaint is not riding more than I do

Geat bike you will love it - I have had 3 hd's last being an Ultra that I put 72 k on - I am pissed I bought the other 2 HD products after riding the Vision. You will probably have one problem - your love life might suffer a bit / my 2 legged lovely finally calmed down, good thing - I would have missed her...

I know the feeling BG. I wanted a Vision for months, then they marked down the price on my 09 to make room for the newer bikes and they threw in the extended warranty. I have had it about 15 months now. Mine has had more 'issues' than most, but I think everything is resolved now. They replaced the radio twice, and replaced most of the engine for a small oil seep from a porous casting. I had to break it in again.

Your bike is the first one I've ever heard of with that problem except mine - it's not something you see often.  My '08 is currently in the shop having the front cylinder replaced under warranty because of a porous casting and a small leak.  My Vision was one of the first ones delivered in Alabama and has 45,000 miles on it. I went ahead and let them replace the rings in the rear cylinder while it's in the shop, so I will now have basically a brand-new engine in it.

You won't regret it. I looked at Harley's,BMW, and another Gold Wing. I absolutely love my Vision and although I have the extended warranty, I've never used it.

The worse problem with a Vision is trying to make it to work.
About the biggest complaint from what I see are the size of the bags. The more trips you take the more you realize you don't need to take so much stuff. If your better half rides with you lots of owners have found some really nice trailers to haul behind the bike. It's all about what works for you.
Remember you can take the trunk off in about 15 minutes and it changes the looks and the handling of the bike.
Do a search here and at TheVMC.com and you will find pages of info about the Vision.
Ride safe.

You guys have to change your profile so we know where your at.
You could borrow my vision for a day but you would have to leave me your wife kids and car so I know you will bring it back. I had h-ds for ever and am so happy I changed.

Recent traded my 2008 Hammer for a 2011 Vision. Love the vision. No regrets at all. Although the 2011's have the new transmission making 4th gear better and finding neutral is a breeze now. I have heard 2010 and earlier owners complain of this transmission issue that is now fixed.

7800 miles in 10 months on an 8Ball Vision. I came off of a 1200 sportster with no problems switching to a "big" bike. The tip-over protecters are a huge help in reducing or eliminating damage. If you buy an 8Ball or Street without a backrest, Victory has discontinued them so they are hard to find. The only complaints (minor) that I can find with my Vision is the heat on my legs in the summer (nice in the winter) and it does take a little time to gas up.

I'm a newbee here also . Pushing 14000 in 11 months / 2010 Pearl White Premium . Have owned and ridden several makes of all sizes the last was a Honda VTX 1800 R . Looked at the Vision's for over a year before biting the bullet . My only regret is not buying one sooner . There is some heat problems' on the legs but if you add lower's one can adjust them where the heat is all but gone . Being vertically challenged ( 5' 6" maybe ) backing up was easily solved with reverse ...

Not overly concerned with heat. As I said earlier that I ride an 06 RSV and those V-4's put out a little heat. Thanks to all who replied.

John-interesting offer...LOL

I have a 2010 ABS in Ocean Blue and Gold. No problems at all except a small crack on the left side of the windshield. That came from hitting a turkey buzzard that I scared away from his lunch coming around a blind corner. The bike handles like a dream, no complaints about the transmission at all. Compared to my 2002 TCD this is a much quieter bike that acts like it's on rails.
