Well, it looks like I'm not getting the bike from my local dealer.

I've found a couple of bikes at different places around the country. And that's cool, it would give the wife and I an excuse for a vacation.

But when I get home, I'm going to have to have it serviced somewhere.

Anyone bought a bike at one dealership, and had it serviced with another? Any problems with this, or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Bought mine at a Victory dealer in Arlington Texas and they closed a few weeks afterward. It is now in the shop having a tire replaced and some other items being repaired. I don't think it will be a problem since they are are authorized dealer. I let you know if there are problems.

I'm yet to have my bike serviced at the shop thats only 90 miles away. I have gone to the one thats over 100miles. My original dealer, who couldn't produce my bike, seems way behind the power curve. I've called them a number of times, and it appears they have the HD mentallity, and that no longer works for me. I would rather pay extra and go to a dealer that treats me right. Check this one out...I live in a desert town, about 20 north of Palm Springs. The nearest Victory dealer is 79 miles away. I have 3 dealerships within half a gas tank away, and won't go to any of them. I called a dealer in a town called Victorville, since I was doing my own oil change at 3k. I asked what it would cost to have them do it. He told me $50. I thought, not bad, so I set up an appoint. for 3 hours later. I arrived in 2.5 hours, told him who I was, he did up the service paper work, and quoted $98. I tore up the paper work, went to the parts counter, bought 2 filters for $20 and went home and changed my own damn oil. Yeah, I've had it with the "dealers" who try and gouge you for every penny they can squeeze out of you. It took me all of 1/2 hour to complete my oil change (filter and all), which I charged myself 12 beers, and paid myself immediatly upon mission accomplishment.

I'm starting to see how you got the iron butt status, one liner posts. You guys make this tough on a guy.

Thanks Breaker, for changing your signature! Just hate to lead a feller astray. I see christmas has come. Get it! and then do it twice, just because.
