All the criticism I have seen about Victory not changing the Vision. I just got an email from HD that I opened to see the 2012 HD lineup. Their lineup looks exactly like it did 5 years ago when I started shopping Vision. I wonder it the HD guys criticize HD.

Not that I am an HD guy but.....They did change the frame of the Ultra in 2009 which was a vast improvement over the old design.

I do not ride a HD either, but they have made some other great moves in recent years..All new motors are 103" and some tweaking in suspension and tires have make a better ride etc. so they say, I will continue to ride my Vision and continue to blow by the HD guys......

I wonder how many of the upgrades would have come about if Victory had not been in the market?

All the H-D touring bikes may have the 103" motor, but look at the power numbers. If you are touring on an 800+ pound bike, do you want cubic inches or horsepower and torque while trying to pass that F-350 pulling the travel trailer? I personally could care less that the pretty little chrome badge says "103" when I grab the throttle.

Then you don't follow HD. I follow everything in bikes from rice burners to cruisers. And HD makes enough changes every year to keep people coming thru the door. Remember, it's about SALES!! They also have a schitload of accessories for every bike and push buying accessories. Hell, I can't even get a backrest for my Vision as Vic decieded to stop making them. If nothing else they have their CVO series, which Vic is just now starting to catch onto with the LE Classic.

SALES SALES SALES! It's why we will probably see the Vision disappear. I don't advocate a redesign, just enough improvement to keep sales growing!! What reason is there for Mr. 2008 Vision to trade up? NONE! I'm tired of hearing people say their 2008 is still a great ride. Yes, it is. Becasue there have not been enough meaningful changes to trade up. That does not promote SALES and corporate growth. Ask any car dealer. His easiest sale is a current happy customer. A Vision rider is already sold on his ride, he just needs a reason to trade up to a newer model. Come on guys, think!!

So under your "business theory", Victory should be marketing to CURRENT VISION OWNERS to grow their Vision marketshare?????

I'm speechless.

In 09 yes h-d changed there frames and most don't say they changed there top motor mount for more saleability. H-D is getting to many law suites for wobble. Most feel in the past the rear of the motor was not secure enough.
Now h-d is being sued for people burning there legs and transmission failure. http://www.cyrilhuzeblog.com/

Yes I was disappointed in the 2012 models but then what more could you do to a vision to make it better. When it is all ready perfect.
If the saddle bags aren't big enough then maybe you should look at what your packing or how your packing.
Yes vision has set he bar high and harley is feeling the pinch and now with there 60 year old design hasn't changed there still trying to catch up to us.
