How many of you have done a certified Iron Butt on the Vision ? I always wanted to do one. Almost seems like cheating doing it on the Vision now.

I read an article over the weekend while waiting on the wife at Book's A Million. I was looking at one of the motorcycle mag's on the rack and read it. I'll see if I can find it again and let you know. He was very impressed how the bike handled the tour.

None on the Vision yet but I have done 5, 1000 miles in 24 hr certified cannonball runs,
3 on my 89 Heritage and 2 on my 96 Ultra. Looking forward to doing one on the Vision I don't want to call it cheating lets just say with age comes wisdom.

Wife and I will definitely be doing one on the Vision before the summer is over.

It's on our 'to-do' list.

I did one last May on my 03 TC. Did 1107 miles in 19.5 hours. I can tell you that when I finished I felt like I had really been somewhere. I'm in agreement that doing one on my Vision would be like cheating but as Graybeard said...with age come wisdom.

I'm going to do another one, may not make it this summer but next spring...Look Out!!!

I've done many 1000+ mile rides. I think 1300 or so was my max. I don't need an Iron Butt award though. 1000+ mile rides are normal here in Texas.

On the Iron Butt you have several rides you can do at one time. The 1,000 mile in 24 hrs the extreme ride 1,500 miles in 24 hrs and the coast to coast in 50 hrs. I did the Border to Border from Mexico to Canada. That has to be done in under 24 hrs. Did that on an 07 Kingpin with a windsheild and a throttle lock and thought it was the way to go. I rode the Vision from San Diego towards New Mexico. The temp droped to about 47 degrees going across the desert. With the heated grips and seat it did almost feel like cheating. No wind knocking you around, the cruise worked perfect. All of us had the CB installed and GPS. The milage on these bikes is great. There is almost no Vibration. We were all wearing Nolan N-com Helmets. Satillite radio was great as the CB, you could hear everything. I can't compare these bikes with any other type of Touring bike because I haven't tried them. For a first year product I think they did a heck of a job!!. When I got back we took the tour pack off. The bike handles like a sports bike. Just installed the Loydes defusser and VFC111 going to have it dynoed tomorrow!!

So Cal
There's no such thing as an Iron Butt on a Vision. Just wake me when we get there.

2009 option, auto-pilot replaces cruise control? Seems a shame to waste such a comfortable seat.

Chahn:

I have the Victory CB/Communication system and the CB still does not work properly even after the latest update a week ago. I cannot get a decent volume through the headset, plus it does not interrupt the radio and I cannot get any CB communication through the external speakers. On top of that, the left speaker in the headset does not work. I am anxious to hear if the three of you had the factory system and if it worked the way it should. On my HD, you could choose external speakers, headset speakers or both. When you get a transmission it interrupted the radio. I am a quite disappointed that they cannot get this fixed.

Thanks for any input you may have.
