Posts: 741 Central New York | I have been asked about this. So I did it my way, as the song goes. This is my offering for a passenger backrest. Could be your cup of tea, or maybe not, but they are available on my web site.

I haven't taken any ft. lb. measurements, but sitting on the seat and pushing back against the backrest, you can flex it rearward 1 to 1 1/2 inches, and that will move the mast a little less than 1/8 inch where it comes through the filler panel.

Posts: 52 DeRidder, LA | I'm glad you didn't give me any ft. lb measurments, I wouldn't know what to do with those anyway. You answered exactly what I was asking, thank you. |

On my web site it was stated that the first lot would be available to ship on August 8th. That date has slipped to August 16th. After further trial with the working prototype I became less and less comfortable with that 1 to 1 1/2 inches of flex as stated above. Although minimal I think it could be enough to alter the outcome of a 'panic' situation. So, I directed my supplier to scrap the masts now in production and redo the order in 1 gauge heavier material. The resulting mast will be the same thickness, but .5 inch wider. Sorry for the delay.

But know this......Texas just passed "Loser Pays" so bring your checkbook. That's a great law, wish it was everywhere. That's another reason why business prospers in Texas and fails in other parts of the country.
