My exhaust is flaking away. This began at around 5000 miles. My dealer (who is now no longer a dealer for Victory) tells me that this is ?normal? for this bike and to ?not worry about it?. Of course, this is also the dealer who charged me $200 for my oil change (which will not happen again). Before I head off to my next closest dealer, has anyone else had this ?flaking? issue? If so, what was your solution? Could this be considered a warranty issue?
Thanks in advance for the help, opinions, suggestions.

Note. I'm still trying to add pics to this post. My pics show as attachments, but I can't see them. Will keep trying. Crazy, my quotes look like question marks, and I can't get the pics to post. Still trying...

If your talking about the header pipes up by the heads yeas its normal. Vic use cheap metal and they don't plate it very well.
Now if your talking about the chrome covers they should not be flaking.

Well, sorry guys. I tried for 30 minutes to post a pic. I clicked attach a file after posting, then chose my file and hit submit. My file shows as an attachment, but I see no pic. I then even tried to figure out how to just delete the entire post since it is worthless without pics, but I couldn't even figure out how to do that. Geez! Then apparently after 30 minutes, you can't even continue trying.
Sorry everyone, but I have to get back to work.

Hmmmmmm, now need to take a closer look at my bike and wondering if I have the same thing happening. Currently it's at the dealer getting Comm system installed, so will check later. As for the $200 on the oil change, suspect this is a complete service which has much more then just the labor/parts to do this simple service. If you don't specify and it's at a normal routine time, they ding you for entire service. Currently our local shop rates have gone up...and so all of our costs are increasing! Just went from $80/hr to $95/hr for Vics.... not sure if this is a local shop thing or coming in from corp but it sure is a bite in the backside seeing that jump.

The chrome on my 08 is pitting, but not flaking.

Well, except on the trunk rack which is a piece of $#@$. Not the rack itself, just the chroming of the rack.

Make sure your pic is not too large.
