Posts: 273 Midlothian, Va. | hooked up my new compressor via the battery tender cable and it came on for a 1/4 of a second then nothing. Hooked it up to the car and it works fine. Guess it's a fuse but it looks like I have to take the gizmo off below the shield to get to them. Anybody know which fuse it may be and why would it blow. I just bought a new Powerlet connector from the tender cable to the cig plug on the compressor. I actually hate electrical problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Just for your information, the reason that the Battery Tender connection only has a 5 amp fuse is to prevent excess amperage from back feeding to the tender if you happen to start the bike with the tender still connected. I have done the same as you and changed my fuse to a 20 amp one but I also put a post-it note on my GPS when I have the tender connected reminding me not to start the bike. |
