OK, so my original plexi-whatever ones cracked through and I had to remove them. I love these things, so I need to order some of the color matched ones from CycleOps. Went to their web page and its asks for a Coupon Code. Anybody got some info on that?

I think you need to pm them for the discount code. This is from an earlier post:

"If you guys don't know it, that kit is only good to aquire the hinges as the plexi panels themselves are crap and ALL break after not to long being installed. We offer custom billet aluminum replacements that fit right on your stock hinge mounts. Offerered in Midnight Cherry, Ocean Blue, Charcoal metallic (SSG), and Gloss Black powder coat as well as triple show chrome. We also offer matching uppers in billet as well. To see them all go to http://www.cycleopsusa.com/custombillet.html. Not only are they less expensive than the OEM plastic, but they're MUCH better looking, no to mention they'll also NEVER BREAK! Plus, due to their lack of flex compared to the plastic ones, they also offer stronger air flow. Be sure to check out all the reviews. PM me for the 10% discount code to save even more."

Yep, and when I can buy the CycleOps kit without wasting $250 on the plastic crap just to get the mounts, I will buy them.

Yo Magic.

Just give Will at CycleOps a call at 305-345-9444...he is a good dude, very responsive. Tell him Bill King from Ohio (Lobster's brother) sent you. He will hook you up.

I also bought the lowers from Will and they are awesome....worth the ching.

Bill

Won't ever happen....

Do what I did, get lucky and find someone that is custom painting their bike and isn't reinstalling these.... get their mounts and then you can buy the Cycle Ops lowers.  Win Win..... least it was for me!

This is exactly what I thought too...CycleOps needs to step up and start producing the mounts too. That will sell more product for them. Win win for ALL of us

Guys.... Will has responded to this request many times on the VMC. Bottom line, it comes down to cost efficiency. Per his previous posts on this, there is no way he'd be able to make the mounts any cheaper then what they are already sold for due to the mass casting process that is currently used on them. With the number of folks out there with cracked/broken plastic lowers that dont want to spend the $$$...I'm sure you could buy the Vic pkg and then sell the plastic parts for $50-$100 and make up some of the difference since these are not sold separately - keep the mounts and buy Will's quality replacements.

So, bottom line you'd probably end up spending $2-300 on the mounts through Will and still have to buy the lowers so you wouldn't be saving anything especially since you can get online dealer discounts if you look hard enough. I've seen the total Vic pkg for $200 and lower on ebay at one time.

I'm sure for any of you that want to know specifics, give him a call and talk to him. He's a great guy and will give you more info on this than you care to know....but to sit here and bash him (IMO) for not making mounts is a bit unjustified since he did bring us a much better replacement part that won't crack or break. Just my 2 cents.

how hard is it to get some flat chrome pieces with an eyelet to mount on the side of the fairing?...hard mount them or tape them down matters not to me. But I am not a machinist or own a billet machine.

Michael,
Please do not misconstrue my desire for a total package as a "bash" against Will. I am a proud owner of one of his Flying V luggage racks and can attest to the supreme quality of his work. I also got A1 Super top notch customer service from him in the process. Will is a stand-up heck of a guy.

I would just prefer to spend my money with him for a complete package of lowers and mounts, rather than over pay Victory for their far less quality product, just to turn around and buy something from Will anyway.

It is a matter of convenience and principle. I do understand the economy issue though.
