Posts: 222 Barefoot Bay, FL United States | Anyone here ever break a passenger handle? Well..Apparently they aren't designed to withstand the full weight of the whole bike, especially when it's beyond just tipped over, and in the gravel, beyond level, and you are using three hold-down wratchet straps in-line, attached to a treetrunk to lift it up!!!!! I eventually wrapped the straps around the frame in front of the seat (after I took it off) and lifted it up enough to push it onto the sidestand. Of course just before the handle broke away from the inner bracket, the wratchet teeth let go, so down it went, back into the gravel, almost upside down!! Surprisingly, NO damage to the side it landed on. Even in the gravel and downhill, the tipover protection did a great job. Any ideas on $$$ for the rear fender panel and the handle bracket? Winter project most likely. It can still be ridden, just not in the rain, as the left saddlebag door has some hinge damage.
Sorry about the pics. Can't seem to edit the size.
