This is really fun. you are right SF, I've notice more comments about engineering, things that I never heard mention about bikes, like, "low center of gravity", and nimble. the only thing that Victory has to watch out for is the herd bikes will take the same engineering make their bikes like the Vision. However, I think it would be hard to do unless they do look like a Vision, because the styling is really functional around the engineering as well as making it aerodynamic. |

One of the reasons for this to happen is what I witnessed this past Saturday afternoon. It was around 6 pm in East Texas at a TEX-MEX joint in Crocket, Texas. All East Texas joints have lousy parking lots, rocks up to 3" in size, loose gravel, and holes, plus they are normally at a slant. The SSGP/T was parked about 150' from the front door and the late afternoon sun was shining on the Silver Gray just right. A group of older folks, probably in their 80s were leaving when a gentleman in the group saw the bike from about 100' feet way. I had to stop eating and just watch this person. He immediateatly started smiling and said something to the folks he was with. Then he slowly started walking across this battlefield type parking lot, it took him about two minutes to do that, and he is smiling all the time. He gets over to the bike and just stands there for a minute looking at the left side, then slowly started around to the front running his hand along the fairing. I could see now he was still smiling, he stopped on the right side still looking at the bike. His wife I think yelled at thim to get going and he just stood there smiling at the bike, I think he finally told her something! As he started back he ran his hand along the back of the trunk. About halfway across and turned and stood for a few seconds looking back at the bike. Finally after about 5-6 minutes he is back at his car and they leave.
Everyone, this is why Victory put so much into the styling of this motorcycle. I can only imagine why looking at my motorcycle pleased this elderly gentleman so much. The Vision's refined styling is what I believe made that person walk all the way across that parking lot smiling, just to get close and touch my motorcycle. He saw something very special. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | I also predict that the next generation luxury touring bike from Victory will not be V-twin powered. Once they establish their reputation as the futuristic thinking, "outside the box" company, they will come up with a super-efficient powerplant/transmission combo that will lead to a whole new chase from the competition. I feel good vibes coming from the young design/engineering team at the company and management has done a great job at letting them flex their abilities. The Vision is the crossover bike. Strong American presence that everyone can fall back on and relate to but with a more modern package. NextGen will be all about the future and pushing the envelope. It will be a turn-off for those stuck in the past but very exciting for those who don't like to follow the pack. It is sooooo nice to ride a bike that is not a "wannabe".

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Those are the moments that are relished in the love of motorcycling and the machines we ride. It is the moments that goes beyond a young boy who stares out the window as you pass. but that adult who has never stradled a motor that stands and amires the beauty of such a ride. I had a gentlman walk around my Vision at a rest stop not long after I got it. He said it was a work of art and he had never seen one that was this beautiful. He had nothing to do with motorcycles and rarely gave them a second look. And just recently when I stopped at leather shop, a ederly women approached me and said that my motorcycle was "absolutely gorgeous". He son had a motorcycle and she has not idea what it is but it has a lot of chrome, but it wasn't as gorgeous as mine. Ladies and Gentlemen we have a beautiful baby! |
