VA | OK, I figure I'll put you life-long riders to good use. I can get a 1500 lb motorcycle jack stand for about $80, which isn't that bad. But I was wondering if anyone knew of attachments for regular car jacks that are made for motorcycles. I have a really nice 2-1/2 ton jack, and I'd really like to save the space in the garage, as I am rapidly running out of room with two bikes, a riding lawn mower and my growing collection of tools. If anyone has seen anything like this, please let me know. It'd make life a lot easier changing oil and maint. Thanks.

So Cal | I have used the 2-1/2 ton jack on other bikes. Very unstable because of the swivel pad. Recommend a jackstand or two once its up, to stablize everthing. The motorcycle jack sounds like a good deal though. Im thinking of making wooden pads for the Vision, to even the load across the engine cases. | |

Western WA | I have the Craftsman motorcycle jack. It's rated to 1500 pounds. I haven't put the Vision on it yet, but it has been a great jack for the other bikes. It's stable, easy to use, and has good ratchet belt/tie downs that are included in the box.
It runs around $80, but every few months Sears puts it on sale for $60 or so. | |

Under the Rule of Jedi - Masshole | I have the small "red" style like the one Sears sell. Not bad, but I find it doesn't go low enough so I have to roll the bikes onto a 2x6 first. I'm going to pick up the $169 model from Sears, which has a lower profile, so I won't need the 2x6. Plus this one has bigger lift pads. I also have a air operated bike lift like the shops use. This I use for oil changes, major stuff.
I'm not calling anyone cheap, but for me, putting a $20,000 motorcycle on a cheap lift just to save $70 buck, just isn't worth taking a chance.
Ride the bike to the store, and ask if you can see if the floor demo will fit under without issues.
But, just buy the one on the right.

Evergreen, CO | The last thing you want is an 800+ pound motorcycle falling on you while you are twisted around on the floor, trying to get that oil drain plug loose. I've had a smilar MC jack as what Member No 1 had the link for, and I can tell you the peace of mind is well worth the slightly increased cost of a quality MC jack. | |
