Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | Plug it yourself and trim the exposed plug back to the tire surface and drive on. Done this many times already. Just use the type you push in and pull out, no need to dismount the tire for the plug and patch. However, there are many sides to this story! I do what is most cost effective to me and safe. If you can afford it buy another tire, if not make do. |

As long as it's not near or in the sidewall it should be ok. |

Posts: 506 Woodland Hills, CA | I have plugged tires, but only temporarily (until I can replace them). I always replace a punctured tire. The last thing I want is to be stranded out somewhere. And yes I know that a patched puncture can last quite a while, but I am just not interested in taking the chance. But that's just me.

You'll be fine. It's in the rear tire; it's in the middle of the tread; I've done it myself and gotten full life from the tire thereafter. Quit worrying about it; the plug will hold. |

Posts: 337 san antonio, tx | Yeah, I always make a point to replace any tire I put a plug in...............once I hit the wear bars. Unless your one piece leather riding suit has knee pucks attached to it, they are going to be fine. |

Posts: 112 Denver, Iowa | After you plug it, monitor the tire pressure on a regular basis. I'd hate to see you on a long haul to Timbuktu, only to find out that, it isn't the pavement that is making the ride tricky, it's the fact that you may be 10 or 15 lbs low on air before you realized it was your leaky plug. They aren't 100% fool-proof.
But I'm with turbobuick, Ride-On in all of our bike's tires. |

Posts: 70 Iowa | Thanks for the replys,I put on about 100 miles today and all seems fine. It was at the back of my mind most of the ride. I'll check my tire pressure on a daily basis. |
