I was fortunate enough to get a used set of the rear chrome tip-over covers. By reading posts on a number of forums I know that 2 faced automotive trim tape and silicon is used to clamp them down over night. I was wondering if anyone had the original instruction sheets for their installation? Maybe you can take a photo of it and post for me to read. I would appreciate any info or tips so that I can install them as soon as they are shipped to me.

wash tip overs with soap and water.
wipe tip overs with rubbing alcohol. It cleans and does not leave residue behind. Carb clean and such products leave a residue behind
clean inside of covers with rubbing alcohol
Dry them. Go to NAPA and get double side tape.
apply tape to tip overs. Put covers on. use C clamps to hold covers down over night.
or heavy weights

When dealing with the automotive double sided tape (usually 3M brand), I always recommend using the Adhesion Promoter as well for that extra bit of insurance.

I have had mine for several years - the chrome is CHEAP and tends to turn to rust. Give them lots of TLC and wax to keep water out.

If possible always use the adhesion promoter wipes mentioned above. They are available at places like Orielly's and Carquest, probably not at Autozone or Advanced though.

And also always use 3M VHB tape, again available at Orielly and Carquest. The VHB stands for Very High Bond.
