My 08 does not have ABS. I have locked up the rear a few times without the trailer. The trailer adds 40lbs tongue weight. Not sure how much this equates to rear wheel weight, but enough to make it difficult to lock up. A dog ran in front of me from behind some bushes while I was pulling the mountain bike. I got on the brakes harder than I ever had before. The rear did not skid. No animals were hurt.

I pull both a fiberglass cargo trailer ad an aluminum cargo trailer. I also have a Timeout popup camper. I ride an 09, no ABS. No issues towing or stopping.

ABS is not really needed on the rear wheel when pulling a trailer, you can stand on the rear brake and not lock it up. The front on the other hand will wash out if you hit it too hard. It's kinda the opposite of normal motorcycle braking.

Before you order a hitch you might want to do some searching around this site. There is TONS of great info about all of ins & outs of the hitches for the Vision.

@hdog - Who makes that trailer? It looks great! How is it to pull? Any bouncing? I am looking at the Bushtec Entourage, but am having sticker shock with it.

The trailer is a rance aluminum 2x4 and it pulls easy with no bouncing. I have had the trailer for almost 2 years and pulled it for 9K miles+ with no issues. Suspension is torsion Axle and not leaf springs. It was a left ovet 2008 still boxed up and I got it for a steal.
Rance stopped making it when super sport aluminum cargo trailers came out for $1395.00

The Hitchdoc has a hidden receiver that can accomodate many types of hitches. The one I have has a ball-hitch that slides into that receiver.

Who makes that trailer and where did you get it??  It looks similar to the UniGo, but more stylish.
