I just rolled 32k on my '08 Vision. That's peanuts compared to some here on the forum, with at least one over 100k. Other than routine, the only major replacement was the Stator, I noticed it was going bad before it left me stranded and warranty covered it so it was no big deal for me. Nothing else major that I would consider a problem. Love the Vision!!!

I had 35,000 on my first Vision I bought new 5/2008. Only problem was the MAP sensor went bad the first week and the battery went bad in less than a year. Dealer took care of both right away. Totaled that on 1/8/2011. I replaced it with a used 2008 with 18K on it. I just passed 45,000 on Vision number 2. Only problems was the battery took a dump on this one too and the throttle body adaptor needed to be replaced. That was an 08 issue and was covered under extended warranty.

2011 I've had for 10 mo's, 10K miles, no problems. I did see your post about the tranny clunk. Yes, I have that but I guess it's gotten used to me.

Gordy, welcome to the Club of owners of the best bike on the Planet.

Best advice I can give you is - learn how the 'SEARCH' function works. Any questions you might have can be answered in older posts and discussions.
Then if you STILL have a question - ASK ! ... but do some research first. We are an 'experienced' bunch with the minor problems we have had. Me? Nothing that hasn't been handled by my dealer - under warranty - and VERY little of that !!!

22k on my 08 and the rear shock went bad, other than that I have had no other problems. I have heard of a few rear shocks going bad. $500.00 replacement cost.

only have 7,800miles on my 09 vision with no issues with it other than when it jumped off my bike lift last summer and tried to commit visioncyde, and my mileage i'm embarrassed to say is nothing in the vision world. A gentleman in my victory club bought a vision last summer and has over 18,000 miles at the last meeting and has no issues with it.

09 Vision with 33k. Have had problem with cruise control - twice. First was front brake switch, and now appears to be cruise control module. Both repairs under warranty. Other than that, not a single problem.

If you look at all the post here you'll find very few have had any problems. The ones they have had are miner ones. Batterys you can't count cause no one knows how long they have been sitting before going into a bike.
The worst problem of them all and we all have it is the poor radio reception the Vision has. Guess its just a bad antenna but no one want to have a pole sticking out of a beautiful design bike

2011 with 35,000. Only problems have been a failed regulator at 1500 miles and a crack in the rear part of the front fender. Both fixed under warranty.

I have a 2009 Vision with about 26,000 miles now that I bought in April 2010. I consider it a great bike. I have had issues that were taken care of under the (5 yr) warranty.
1) The radio failed, I had display but no sound. They upgraded the software, then replaced the radio. Very soon that one would lose power and go off and on at random. They replaced it and this one has worked fine ever since. I have heard of radio issues from other riders, so this may be a common problem with the 08's and 09's.
2) It developed an oil 'seep' at the bottom of the front cylinder. The mech said it was a seep not a leak because it was so little oil. It never actually dripped off the bke. Porous castings was to blame, they replaced most of the engine before this went away. I had to break it in all over at about 8,000 miles. I have read one post where another rider had this, so I consider it a RARE problem, again with 08's and 09's.
3) Oil coming from front injector area. Not a lot of oil, but it ran down the cylinder. They replaced the valve cover gasket, then the valve cover, then found a bad seal or o-ring at the injector or near it. Not sure how that works, does the injector seal hold back oil? I suspect this seal was damaged when the engine was put back together before. So I don't think this is common, just human error.
4) The plastic belly pan under the battery split in half. I don't know why it broke, but they replaced it. I have never heard of any one elses breaking, so I put this in the rare category.

Once the pivot screw in my clutch lever siezed. I thought my clutch was going out until I pushed the lever forward. I took the nut off the screw to let it move freely, but I couldn't break the screw loose with my chinsy screwdriver. I took it back to the dealer and they cleaned it up and put some antiseize in it and the nut back on. Not much of an issue but I thought it worth mentioning.

Occasional popping, backfiring. I have heard this is caused by closed loop fuel injection. It is more noticable with loud exhaust. Lloyd's idle air valve helps this. I had Thrush mufflers on my bike for most of 2011. I went back to the stock mufflers last fall, but still use the iav and don't hear any popping now.
Anything made by humans can break, but I beleive Victories are among the best made motorcycles.

I have a 2008 Vision tour with 30,000 miles that I bought new.

1 The first week the stater failed but the mechanic replaced the wiring harness. When I went to pick up the bike a week later the bike still would hardly roll over. The red faced mechanic then stated it needed a starter. Another week later it was complete.

2 At about 15,000 miles replaced sprockets and belt under warranty to stop belt squealing. 15,000 miles later it is back.

3 Recently the rear shock is loosing air after a week. The bottom of the shock is covered with oil indicating a leak. I went to my local dealer and the service person stated without looking up "shocks are not covered." We have submitted shocks on snowmobiles and Polaris does not cover shocks. This is the same service adviser that when I had a rattle and asked if the mechanic could take it for a spin told me it would be 1hr labour at $99.00

4 Bought bike with stage one but the popping drove me crazy so I have re installed the stock exhaust.

5 I had my first rear tire replaced by my local dealer at the cost of $550. I have since taken off my own wheels and another bike shop gives me 15% off plus free install the tires on the rims. I currently running Bridgestones and so far happy with them.

Would I buy another vision?
I like the ride and performance. Love the electric windshield and the seating position especially on long trips. Probably will in a few more years as living way up north can only ride 5 to 6 months a year.

27,000 miles and most everyting I've had to replace were because of my own errors. New front fender, because I put too big a tire on. New battery, because I listen to the radio too much with the bike not running, New headlamps, because I thought the Anti-Vib ones would work better. The only thing I can blame -Ma Vic- for, is the LED in the lighted badge stopped working. My dealer is working on getting it replaced under warranty as we speak.
