Have no idea how the damn thing disappeared but noticed it yesterday afternoon during a ride. Pretty positive it was there when I left since I would have noticed it during my pre-ride checks and I tend to let my undiagnosed OCD get the better of me.

Looking it up, it looks to be "Polaris PN 5436406 Lens, LP Module" just pissed that it came loose and I now have to order one...

WTH?! Anyone else have one of these decide to disappear?

Mine is still there but it will soon get a couple of dabs of silicone as insurance. Sorry about your loss hopefully it's not too expensive.

Doesn't look to be an expensive part (about $12) but it is the principal! Again, WTH?!

Will stop into the dealership tomorrow and order one- they are pretty good in that they will order the parts for a little over their cost but no shipping so it usually comes out about the same as ordering online.

Just be careful reinstalling those panels!

No, that's not how it works. That's not how any of this works. You don't even have to remove anything but the cover and the bulb. I've done it in the parking lot of a store. It's one of those little dome like bulbs. I'm suspect about you losing it. Was there another Vision rider with you that day? It just doesn't blow out, you have to pry it gently out. It snaps in and it has no reason to jump ship. Just saying.

Yup just looked at mine. I had not noticed the lens could be pulled that easily.
I just saw the bulb in the past as I changed a brake light bulb.

Don't feel bad, mine fell off too, and I have the same Vision you have. I will have to order that piece at the 5k service. How are your panels holding up? My fairing on the upper left hand corner is sticking up a little bit. It's not flush like on the right side. I also have some rust on the heat shield right underneath the seat. The bike is only 5 months old. The fit and finish could use some improvements, especially for a $20k+ bike. Other than that, a great bike.

So far, the panels are descent. I expect a degree of "settling" from a new bike and nothing unexpected. My only complaint would be with the clips- I take the trunk off quite a bit and the retainer clips have tried to make a run for it but managed to corral them! Also, I have managed to scratch a couple of edges on the panels from popping them off and on but that was due to my own inattention to detail.

Only other oddity would be the wind deflectors under the mirrors- They pivot fine but I can't figure out how ti increase the drag. Hitting highway speeds, they will fold back in negating the purpose...

Still pissed I lost the damn lens!

Been years since I lost one. Found an adjustment screw you tighten to adjust tension. Been working fine since.

I've had two of them disappear. But, I have an aftermarket license plate bracket that requires a wire for power to the LEDs in the bracket. I file a small notch in the plastic lens to snake the wire through. Apparently one of the plastic tabs broke on the lens, and I lost it.... twice. Guess I need to look again and make sure it's still there.

Yep... lost mine when the bike had about 300 miles on it. I asked dealer if warranty covered parts that blew off. He just laughed and ordered me another, about $12. Anyway when I put the new one on it just fell in place. No wonder it came off its so loose. I added a dab of silicone to it. 7,000 miles later, its still on.

Ordered the replacement yesterday- should be in by Monday next week.

Good thing since I stole one off of a new Vision on the floor today; hope the one I ordered fits their 2014!

Fortunately, I saw mine sideways in the hole before it fell off. Dealer is ordering a new one to see if the lens was the problem.

I lost mine as well. Regarding the upper wind deflectors, mine wouldn't remain out on windy rides. Tried tightening the screws but that didn't help. Removed the "front cover" in front of the windshield and tightened the two upper screws and that didn't help either. So I removed those two screws, lifted out the top plate, the nylon shim and the rubber cylinder. Then I cut another shim out of thin plastic, like a gallon milk jug, with the same inner and outer dimensions of the cylinder. I placed it below the rubber cylinder and reassembled. Now they are much tighter and never move from the full out position on windy rides. They still can be turned by hand but with much more effort than before. The whole thing took less than an hour.

This is a very interesting thread!

I LOVE IT that one of the main concerns about owning a Vision is ............."LOST THE LENS BELOW THE LICENSE PLATE?!" ...............

Especially after reviewing many of the "bitch sessions" on some of my former brand's bulletin boards and social media stuff!

LOL!!!
