Rode the Amalfi Coast from Salerno to Sorento. Words can't describe it, and neither can pictures. For you guys in the US, the tail of the dragon doesn't hold a candle to this place.

Within 100 miles there were so many turns I lost count, switchbacks that would make you work your bike, dozens of elevation changes from sea level to 3000', changed gears so many times I think I cooked my oil, cliffs on both sides of you (some with 2000' drops), 20% grades, natural rock tunnels, and long tube tunnels, and the list can go on and on. Simply put, you better be on your game when you ride this stretch of road. I laid the Vision down at a slow speed at one point to avoid a head on collision.

My hat (or helmet) is off to you. I was in Rome, Naples and a couple of other places last summer, and would NEVER drive over there. Them Italians all think they're Mario Andretti's....

In the US the dragon does not hold a candle to many other locations in terms of technical riding. What it does have going for it is a reputation. I rode and drove on many of the Sierra Nevada roads in California in the 1970s that were far harder technically than the videos I have seen of the Dragon. Even the Pig Trail in Arkansas has that thing beat for technical difficulty. On the other hand a simple count of the number of mild curves in a short distance makes the Dragon sound a bit daunting. Don't confuse reputation with reality.
