I've been riding for some 40 years now. Matter of fact we are joining up with our club today for a 200 mile ride. Of course it's 7 degrees here in north east missouri. And of course we as riders make our own wind chill. I've tried many different options as far as full face helmets go. Spending many dollars on the so called no fog shield. Concosions you can buy to rub on the face shield. Most all bs. The best thing I've used to keep the fog off the shield is shaving cream. Barbasol works best. Well for us anyway. Of course there is no miracle cure. But take some shaving cream rub it on the inner part of the shield let it sit up for a bit till it's pretty much dry. Take a non abrasive cloth and buff it out or till it's clear to see out of. It'll last or around a couple of hours. That's if your a all season rider in colder climates.

Pinlock. Get a Pinlock and you will not fog.

I just crack my visor a little; eventually it will stop fogging up and then I can close it.

Old diver's trick. Try plain old ordinary spit on the inside of your shield.

IMHO - My number one reason for disliking full-face helmets is that if you tour and ride a lot in rain and foggy/cool conditions, you constantly battle the old "fogging" problem. Especially while traveling at night. It gets down-right dangerous sometimes.

I prefer to wear a good open face helmet and then add on a shield when it's raining. No "fogging" problems at all. There is a remarkable difference.

Before someone flames me, I do own some very expensive (Arai) full face helmets. I just prefer to see where I'm going in cooler weather. :D

No flaming here. What is not to like about an open face helmet. The only problem is the front of your face is not protected in an accident. I have jumped on the modular helmet wagon some years back. I have owned a Shoei Neotec for about the last three years and am very happy with it, but paid 600 dollars for it, which by far is the most I have ever spent on a helmet. It is well ventilated and I have not had an issue with fogging up. I would recommend the Neotec if it fits your particular head shape. I think at the end of the day, you get what you pay for and the more you spend the better the composite materials, lighter weight, better ventilation, and reduced/no fogging up. Cheers, Vlad.

I also like my Shoei Neotec. I add the Pinloc visor for the cold wet rides.

This was during an IBA ride. The first 300 miles were in the rain, No fog.

I picked up a Gmax flip helmet that's also designed for snowmobiles. It has a heated sheild option. Works great. Was not hard to wire up.
