Having owned a 04 Kingpin for 47K trouble free miles (4 years)OK, 2 clutch cables I decided to buy a Vision after doing a demo ride at the dealer. Got a GREAT deal on a used low mile 2009 premium. Wife and I just took a 3800 mile trip from Washington state to salt lake city, Denver, Moab, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Vegas, Monterey, and up the 101 home. All I can say is WOW! Loved the bike. Plenty of power, comfy, handled great, and not a single problem. The only real problem I had was getting out of parking lots from answering questions and conversation about the bike!
Only 2 minor complaints..road noise thru tank :tunnel: and the air box "gulping" noise when throttling up.
Very glad I made the purchase.

Two-up a Vision is an amazing bike. Excellent suspension. I mean excellent.

IMHO, and according to my wifey, it's the best kept secret in touring bikes for riding two-up. We have about 60,000 plus miles riding together on various touring bikes.

Congratulations on the Vision. They really are the best. The suspension is superior to that of the Goldwing. I've witnessed Goldings bottoming out going over rough rail crossings that the Vision handled with ease.

All full fairing bikes tend to funnel road and engine sounds back to the rider. That isn't unique to the Vision.

If your Vision gives you a "gulping" noise when throttling up, you probably have the performance top air filter installed, and maybe some other goodies as well. That's a good thing.

nwfungi maybe you can find out who owned it before you and get some information. Dunlop E3's are noise especially if there under inflated. Vic's tire gauge is junk. Like rdbudd said maybe performance filter and maybe your 02's are unplugged. This is a must. On the front fender back black half with a 6mm allen wrench check the bolts to see if there tight. Many fenders have cracked around mounting bolts Please Do This

I would venture to say many front fenders have cracked because they were overtightened once paranoia set in on this forum, but that's just my opinion. Certainly something to keep in mind for sure including the proper torque spec. I agree in that you must have the Ness top box and K&N combo. In any case, that's an easy check to get to the top box to see what's up. I have a 2011 now, but miss my 09 Vision. Even though my 2011 has the improved drive train and standard ABS, the 09 was a better scooter. The Vision, without a doubt, packs the most bang and meat and potatoes for your buck in the "used" scooter department in addition to low cost to maintain since you can go to O'Rielly or Napa for 90% of what you need to keep your scooter on the road. Take care...

I think the Victory Jacket made the sale!! Yeah, you did good. You sure it isn't 79999 miles? You can tell most folks, aside from other VV owners, it's a 2014 and nobody would know the difference Time to start putting the miles on her. Where the VV shines is on the interstate/back roads on those 700 mile plus days. Take care, Vlad.
