Interested in getting a set of the Big Gonzo mufflers for my Vision. How big of a job is it to take off and replace the mufflers? Are new exhaust gaskets needed? Any videos of the job?

I recently had my stock exhaust replaced with Adam Bombs by the Vic Shop. No new exhaust gaskets were needed but it is a lot more tedious of a job than you might think. There is the removal of some of the body and then taping the edges of other parts so as not to scratch other parts. Getting the stock exhaust off is typically difficult and lots of WD-40 or other penetrant is needed. You will also need to replace the bands that hold on the heat shields as they have to be cut off (if still stock). It's not really a hard job but it does require some patience.

Thanks for the tips Ferta. I will have to make sure I am in a patient mode when I attack this project, or it could all go wrong.

Changed my 2014 ones last weekend using the tip overs sounds a good idea I just put a block of wood under the stand once you figure out how to get the
Lower saddlebag panels off the other stuff is straight forward took about 3hrs (have never took panels off the vision before) spray the joints the day before you do them once there unbolted rotate the muffler l/h clockwise r/h anti-clockwise to free the top mounting studs then rock the muffler back and forth while pulling backwards once there off strip what you need for you new mufflers replacement is straight forward after that .
