Lloyd gave her back today....man it felt good to ride. Throttle response is GREATLY improved and my 70 mile trip home at 75-80mph returned a 41 mpg average...Nice!!

Are you still running the stock pipes?

Was the first dyno run with everyting stock?

That is a nice gain at the rear wheels. I'll bet the bike isn't running as lean anymore and should run cooler and it looks like the gas mileage didn't suffer.

So Victory is way overrating the HP and torque for the stock Vision, looks like the Vision with Lloyds improvements and stage 1 pipes are right at the stock #'s Victory boasts on the website.

When Victory or other manufactures list horsepower and torque ratings they are from the engine crank not the rear wheel as the Dyno that Lloyd is using. There is usually a 10 to 15 percent loss in transferring power to the rear wheel so the increases Lloyd got are pretty good.

radioteacher - the intake plate mounts to the front of the intake (where the stock air filter is). The plate uses a different K&N (conical) filter -shown in Luzzy's photo.

JAM,

I thought it mounts to the access panel on the top of the airbox?... thus having 2 air intakes and 2 air filters.

So Cal
Where did you mount the VFC control panel? Is it hidden or accessable when riding?

Looks like it is under panel right below instrument panel. That painted panel can be popped off when you open gas filler and glove box.

For sure the intake plate from Lloydz mounts to the top of the frame under the console independent of the K&N. I talked to Lloyd yesterday about it.

Interesting, According to Kevinx one of the resident Vic experts at the VMC, he claims it's at the wheel.

The Vision brochure says 92 hp and 109 ft-lbs torque at the crank.

Sorry Guys,

Was a bit under the weather the past couple of days.

The Filter Mod is under the center console and cleans up the air very close to the intake.

The VFC is located under the Panel Close to the seat. Pop it off, make adjustments ...easy.

Factory always rates at the crank(looks more impressive) - So the numbers Lloyd got represent almost a 10% gain in HP....nice.

It's nice to have her home.

Luzzy,

It looks like it takes all 3 of these mods just to move the factory crank numbers 92HP/109 Ft-Lbs Torque to the rear wheel. That is some drive train loss.

I guess I'm just surprised that a basically stock 106 inch is dynoing at #'s that many stage 1 92 inch owner are claiming to be getting.

According to the dyno runs that Lloyd has done on the 92 inch with a stage one you get 70 hp and 90 torque and with effectively a stage one on the Vision 106 you get 94.65 hp and 110.51 torque. That is a pretty good increase and this is with the stage 1, level 1 pipes. The stage 1 pipes for the 92 are more like the stage 1, level 2 pipes for the Vision and we need to wait to see what difference they will make when they are out.

On my Jackpot, it took aftermarket pipes, the PMRT airbox, and the VFC to see 94/105 at the wheel. A Stage 1 92" motor is not seeing those numbers...

On an aside...With Lloydz filter installed, is the K&N necessary or can it be removed? I know it's doesn't provide much flow restriction, but as they say, every little bit helps. Also, what does the air channel in the frame look like? Could there be some benefit from polishing or is it already pretty clean?

Mike, Most dealers that have websites have an online parts catalog, on this you can see some of the parts on the frame and at the filter. According to this there is a what looks like velocity tubes (4) assembly right after the filter that should help straighten the flow. The tubes though don't look very long.

The part catalog is posted on Vics website. I just took a look and sure enough, there is a tube setup in there. Unfortunately, it just not a clear picture of what is going on inside ther. I guess I'm gonna have to take it apart and see what's what...
