Has anyone installed the slip-ons WITHOUT installing the filter and having the map loaded? Were there any rideability issues?

I just had my kit delivered and I have a VFCIII on the way, but dammit, I'm itching to get these things put on.

If you've done it, did you notice any problems or were you able to ride it a bit before getting it tuned???

Mike, I installed my mufflers about two weeks prior to putting in the air filter and doing the re-map. The only issue is the gas mileage dropped off about 5 mpg, don't know why. Rideability did not seem to be an issue. It did produce a "pop" on decell, but nothing very noticable. Even with the remap, it will do that now. I'm going back for my 2500 mile check up next week, and I'm going to talk to the service manager about that. Put them on, you'll like the sound. I did post some instructions on the install here at http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=334&post...
Enjoy the Level 1's, if you need to discuss install, just e-mail me.
