Tried the cruise control on my '09 premium. It is nice having a bike with cruise control on long trips. But it seemed to be surging. I wondered about the tuning for the cruise control.

I would continuously feel the bike speed up, slow down, speed up, slow down. Even on a flat surface.

Anyone else have this issue?

I've not, but there is a way in the manual to reset the cruise or there are post in the tech forum that will tell you how.

does the surge happen in 6th gear and around 2 grand on the tach? could be the engine just lugging....just a thought.

Here is the posting on how to reset the Cruise Control. It worked flawlessly for me and took care of the surges.

Hold up there. I would highly recommend you leave it alone. It will help you from falling asleep on long highway rides.

I tied the suggested tuning and it works fine now. This is a great site! Thanks for the advice ladies and gentlemen.

I just had fun turning useing my arms into the wind . No surging though. I will look for that next time out. Too cold here in Chicago.
