I am curious as to what the Garmin GPS mount looks like when the GPS is not on the bike. I have just ordered the Zumo 660 for trips, but since most of my riding will be without the GPS, I am wondering what the mount looks like with the GPS off the bike. I understand that I will also need to purchase the Victory mount, but I am interested to know if there is a cover that goes over the mount when not in use, or is the mounting bracket just left exposed.

Any photos that anyone may have showing the mounting bracket would be very much appreciated. Thanks, and ride safe.

Well I tried twice to attach some pictures and didn't have any luck. I can tell you that the 660 mount is much less obtrusive than the 550 was.

Sent pics to your e-mail, hope you got them.

As of about 10:15 PM PDT I had not received them. Maybe they are hung up in cyber somewhere and I will get them tomorrow, but in any case, thanks for trying!

Wiz', the Garmin mount is relatively small and there is a snap in place waterproof cover available from Garmin if the 660 doesn't already come with it. Looks clean in place and says Garmin on the front. It will also fit the Vic gps mount for the 660.

Here's a couple pics of the mount with and without the weather cover:

How do they secure the mount to the surface of the dash? I've ordered the mounting kit so I guess I'll find out when it arrives but I am just curious. I also have a "Touratech" locking mount and I'm wondering if they are compatible.

TIA

1. The radio console cover must be removed and three holes must be drilled for the mounting process. They explain clearly in the instructions that come with the GPS mount.

2. I do not think the Touratech mount is compatible with the G660 base.
