Posts: 102 Orlando | The dealer installed a CB/Intercom on my 2009. The bike does not register that the CB/Intercom is there. The headsets will give sound for music only, but you only have one volume level and can make no adjustments. No intercom either. The dealership is waiting for Vistory to respond. Any ideas? |

Posts: 102 Orlando | Just sent that question to the dealership. Would that also keep the headsets from working correctly? |

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | The cable connects the CB (which also provides intercom functionality) to the radio unit, so I would say yes. We all know that radio and module firmware mismatches can cause weirdness like reboots, irradict behavior, etc. I don't ever remember reading anywhere that a module (XM or CB) isn't seen on the radio.
If you have the bike, you can see if the radio diagnostics recognize the CB.

While I cannot personally confirm this, others have stated that the 2010 and newer require a different CB as Vic upgraded the radio. See Man314's post about halfway down. I am wondering if you possibly got a 2010 CB and it is not compatible with a 2008 radio.

Either way, the dealer needs to sell you a working solution.

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | I had the first Vision that my, Dealer Now Out of Business, installed the CB/Intercom on.
They did forget the Connecting cable.....xxxx143 and then tried to make me pay for one. I had to show them that it was on the original invoice and then they said ... Oh, thats ok your bike is ready now.

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | Make sure you see "Wiring Harness Item # 2876143" on the list of products installed. This is the correct part for the 2009 Vision.
After you get this taken care of you might consider this modification. Swapped Controls for the Radio and CB

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | They could have ordered the "CB Harness ? Victory Vision Item #: 2878064" which is for the 2010 and 2011 Visions. This would be wrong for your 2009.

| I just finished installing my CB/Intercom setup and I am having the exact same problem. I thought maybe I didn't connect everything correctly. No volume control, no CB display, so no channel control or squelch. I can speak in the mic and hear myself. I can hear the radio also, but aboslutely no control. |

Posts: 6 Milton, WA | Has anyone found a solution yet? I just finished installing mine and have the same problem that has been reported here. When I run the diags on the radio it reports all switches except passenger volume up, I verified that the switch is bad. The radio reports 5.21A BB 5.14A, 1. It does not show the CB at all. |

Posts: 499 Chattanooga, TN | I have a related question, but not completely related and hoped you guys could offer some advice prior to me beginning work. To start with, I have an 08 VV Tour and just purchased a CB/XM combo off a 2010 XC. Now I see the part numbers for everything is different. The only similarity is the CB wiring harness. So, I'm thinking about selling the XM unit which is specific to the XC and finding a 2010 or newer Vision radio for my bike and using the cb and harness. I've heard that the radio is an direct replacement, plug and play, but don't know this for sure. I really like the idea of having a newer radio, cause I love my bike and that's really the only thing I would want a newer bike for. Anyone else have any experience relating to doing this? |
